4th time...

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 @ 11:00 AM

Let me put a pause on my belated posts to post this.

Oh the agony. 4th time already for my Traffic Police test, which is tomorrow :\ I've had only 2 practice revision for it... It's like Monday; practice, Tuesday; practice... then Wednesday; TP... And the last time I touched the steering wheel was during mid-August. Let me do my best for tomorrow. And I wish that this flu would go away :\ Thank you.

AND I
PASSED!!!

Yay! The nightmare is finally over~~ No more sitting at the room waiting for the tester to come, while listening to the other testee got a run through of their mistakes. No more vomiting of butterflies in the stomach. No more. No more spending money!

I opened my BBDC driving account on 15/12/2006. On the 14/10/2009, it was closed :X
I took really long to get my license. So many breaks in between due to school work and of course, the phobia of driving at night... That's the reason why I didn't take my practicals after school. Want to know how much I spent? Be very surprised. It's... SGD$ 3449.19... Wow, right?

Here are my results for everything! :X

Photobucket
Huge improvement, right?

Anyway, after my test, the tester came to tell me about my mistakes and stuff. I wanted to know my results desperately! Did I pass? Did I fail? And when he totaled up my demerit points to 18 points, I was relieved! I wept a few tears of relief and happiness xD I could literally feel the layers of stress and burden slowly peeled off!

Went to watch a video at the briefing room, took a passport photo for my license. My 2nd time taking passport photos in the week! The first was for my new passport. I had to retake for my license... because my fringe for my passport one is super super ugly :\ Later I head up to the 2nd floor to queue for the application for the driving license.

I had to pay $50 for the driving license! I was shocked. I didn't know what was the $50 payment for. I even went to ask the counter woman what was the $50 for. And... the woman looked at me as if I was mental. Heh. Hilarious, eh?

Photobucket
I supposed this is my temporary license.
This piece of paper :\
Need to wait for one month for the actual license to be send to my house.

Photobucket
Bought my P-Plate, $10.17.
Just in case :X
New drivers need to have this plate put up for a year.

I like these bird displays :)

After that, I met my aunt at Orchard, ate and then made my way down to work... I took over WenHao's shift. Apparently, he had something on. AND YAY I FINALLY PASSED!! :D
Looking forward to Joshua's Ikea meatballs treat :)

Lost but now found :)

Friday, June 26, 2009 @ 12:28 PM

Was woken up at 9am+ to go down and search for yipyip. My mama, aunt, Damien and me brought down Ocean and Sky in a small cage and walked around the flats until we almost gave up. A night has already past, so many things can happened during that period. Probably yipyip has flew far far away, flew into someone's house or maybe even died already. And moreover, when birds fly away, it's very hard to find it... Because they have wings to take them to further places...

When we were about to head home, Damien decided to put the cage in the field in front of our block. All of the sudden, the birds that was quiet from the beginning of the search, began to chirp! And there were chirping replies immediately after each chirp made by Ocean/Sky. My mama and I walked towards the direction of the replies and... saw a small green bird with peach face perching on a branch of a small tree! IT WAS YIPYIP :D!! We were so surprised! It was definitely a miracle.

Yipyip was found on one of these small trees in front of my block.

My mama went to it and tried to catch it. But yipyip flew away in fright onto the road!! D: My mind was OH SHI-... Damien then quickly ran after and tried to chase it back. It flew to the trunk of a tree by the road side. My brother tried to catch it again but it flew back to ground near the small trees. We quickly but quietly put the cage on the ground near it. Ocean and Sky kept chirping while yipyip approached the cage slowly with caution.

Lousy handphone camera :\
But you all can see yipyip right?

Finally, yipyip climbed on top of the cage and it even shit on Ocean's head =.= Damien crept closer and closer towards the cage but then he LUNGED at yipyip. yipyip got frightened from the sudden movement and flew ACROSS THE ROAD. ARGHH!!!!! So lucky that the cars didn't ram into yipyip. If not, I'm gonna condemn cars/driving for life.

My mama quickly crossed the road and chased yipyip off the road first. yipyip flew to the fence of a working building(?) This part I was so scared that it will fly into the compound and we will never get it back anymore. Because I think we need authorization to enter the place. My mama tried to catch it again but it flew onto a papaya tree in front of the fence. Phew... Luckily it's not on the other side of the fence... So many attempts to catch it!!! This is like our final chance... Brought small cage over and put it in front. No use... They are not chirping anymore. Discussed on what other plans to make it come back to us. I decided to bring the big cage down. Because it is its home. So I went up and carried the big cage down. Oh god. It's HEAVY!!

Stupid cars... So many. I wanted to cross the road quickly as possible so yipyip can come home :( After crossing the road, I placed the opened big cage beside the small cage. We waited but nothing happened... Damien tried to carry the big cage in front of yipyip. But yipyip didn't seem to be responding. Next we tried to put the small cage with the 2 birds into the big cage. And then carry the cages up again. Nothing happened. We ran out of ideas already. So my mama said, "It's now or never. Last chance to get it back. If this fails, no more yipyip already." Had to use brutal force now.

I crept up towards the papaya tree and tugged the stem of the leaf which yipyip was happily sitting on, down towards us. My brother then quickly grabbed it and he managed to do so this time... yipyip bit my brother's finger hard that it bled. But he didn't let go and only releasing it into the cage. And we went home exhausted but relieved that yipyip has finally come home... :)

Cage in a cage technique.

From here, you can see why yipyip still able to fly.
One of its wing's inner feather has grown out.
Thus it can still fly but not very well. Not balance!
Anyway, we have already cut it away.
Well, I hope Damien has learnt his lessons and remembers to close the windows when playing with the birds. I DO NOT WANT TO EXPERIENCE THAT AGAIN!
IT'S NERVE-WRECKING!!!

G302 DONE! Over and Out!

Sunday, November 30, 2008 @ 11:41 PM

::29th Nov 08::

FINAL YEAR PROJECT G302 PRESENTATION IS TODAY.
I thought I will forget what I'm suppose to present during the presentation. So I kept reading through my notes on my DS on my way to school. Was really nervous. Had butterflies and moths in my stomach! Those really big ones O_O

When everyone in my team had reached, we went to register and collected our tags and paperwork stuff. The guys went to get our echeveria plants and the girls went to put up the poster in the designated classroom, W56D. Same class with ahsie's team :D and keeeithh's team D:

Our beloved $15 poster :X

In case you forget, my project is based on plant tissue culture of this lovely plant,
Echeveria "Topsy-Turvy"

Before the start of the presentation, I was really having serious jitterbugs. I even suddenly had a stomachache and felt like puking. Our first assessor who came in is... Jeremy Wu. But Hui Cheng, soon arrived as well. So we presented to two of them. Jeremy Wu asked the weirdest question of all the assessors. Don't know what stupid scientific conflict question. Something like if we bring this project of ours and let other scientists know about it, then they tried to prove our project is wrong or when they tried the same way as ours but ended up with a different results. What should we do? ............ Anyway, Jeremy Kong was also one of our assessors! :D

3 down. 3 more to go!
Halfway through.

Here we had a 30mins break with no assessors coming in to assess us yet. So we took pictures :X

Anyway the whole thing was over like a breeze. It was quite alright in the end. I guess I was more confident than I was at G301 presentation :3 Thank you my teammates for encouraging me during the presentation, especially Yehoshua. So here are more happy "FYP IS OVER" pictures :D:D:D

Team Echeveria FTW!
My clothes looks like a japanese school uniform :X

With our PI, Lee Wan She :D
She is the best (:

With Arif, YT and Miki :)

Then again... FYP ISH OVERRRRRRRRRRR! WHEE!

Happy 43rd Birthday, Singapore!

Saturday, August 09, 2008 @ 9:46 PM

::9th Aug 08::

Haha! Random posting of the Singapore flag!

Yay! Our Singapore's national day is today!~ Though I really didn't do much about it, as in I treated it like a normal saturday. Didn't even see the NDP on TV. Was over at my cousin's house for their housewarming. Pretty nice, but it looks small.

Today was also the day, I went for a part-time job hunt at GV with Puikwan. Holidays are soon here and I do not want to slack at home. Or should I say rot! D: Anyway, we met up at Tiong Bahru and went to the GV there. AND WOAH! So many people there... So we waited. Until I saw a chance to ask. & the person still call me to wait ar! It's okay! Nevermind. I know there's still a lot of people you all have to serve. So I don't mind. We continued to wait. 45mins passed... Still not a single soul entertain us. Even though there is lesser people already!! But noooo... Thus, we failed the endurance test and left the place for Great World City's GV. And we were entertained almost immediately! It took less than 10mins. I regretted going to Tiong Bahru's at the first place... Waste our time only! >:(

Anyway, I really hope that we two will get the part time job!!:) *prays*
-added- MEH!! SHE CALLED!!!

& HAPPY 43rd BIRTHDAY, SINGAPORE!
S! IN! GAPORE!
One People. One Nation. ONE SINGAPORE!
