After practicing so hard - personal practices and five official training sessions, the day of performance has ARRIVED!! :DWith the initial recruitment drive of 300 flashmobbers (from practically everywhere - schools, community centres), due to the overwhelming response received, there's more than 300 flashmobbers participating in this event!
& so, the >300 of us who have been undergoing the fierce training sessions of nonstop dancing, we were finally ready for the event, the People's Association Youth Movement (PAYM)'s 14th Biennial Youth Awards, SHINE! PAYM Awards & Central Youth Council Installation Ceremony 2010; which will be held @ Resort World Sentosa - Convention Centre.
& our SHINE Dance Showcase will be the award ceremony event's Special Segment! :D

Before we head over to RWS, I met up with Edmund and XueNi for breakfast @ McDonald's; 10.30am :) Puikwan turned up an hour later to meet us because she usually eats at home first before going out. Afterward, we made our way to Daiso for Edmund to buy his $2 tie which he would be wearing for the performance later xD

Since there was a bit of time left to spare, we loitered around Vivo City. We ended up spending most of the time at Toys"R"Us - wasting monies at the gachapon machines there! :D Well, XueNi was the only one doing all the gachapon-ing though... :X

The time to reach the Compass Ballroom @ RWS for attendance taking is 1.30pm. So we quickly made our way there at 12.45noon; thinking that we have ample time xD Took the RWS8 bus over to Sentosa and alighted somewhere in the basement (carpark-looking place?) of Resort World Sentosa. From there, we began our search for the Hard Rock Hotel; which the Compass Ballroom is said to be located there.

So amazed to see that Sentosa's appearance has changed a lot!

Kinda got detour during our search for Hard Rock Hotel, we went to take a look at the
Universal Studios Singapore instead xD

And with that, we continued finding ways to get to Hard Rock Hotel. Tried looking at the map of RWS but it was very vague :\ So we seek for directions at the information counter. However we still got a little lost... We managed to find a sign directing us to Hard Rock Hotel, after walking through one or two hotels' shopping lanes. Like finally~~ D:

When we first entered the place, I was pretty much astonished by it! The place was very grand and really beautiful; with pretty chandeliers and such. We strolled about the huge place, trying to search for the particular ballroom we were supposed to go to - the holding area for the performers. We also noticed that some of the ballrooms/convention areas were labeled using the names of horoscopes :) I like that very much.

Spotted some people that we assumed were fellow flashmobbers; and they were sitting around, camwhoring and probably unsure where to go - like us :X So we decided to sit around and take pictures too :P Well, until we know where we were supposed to go next.

Suddenly we saw the people who were sitting around, stood up and moved towards a room. We too followed them and it was the performers' holding area :D Yay!~ The moment I stepped into the room, I was horrified by the lighting inside D: Why are they using YELLOW lighting inside?! It was horrendous and all our pictures turned out ugly and yellowish :( Moreover, it's hard to see in this kind of lighting as well Dx
Had a toilet break after putting our bags down in the holding area.

Btw, XueNi and Puikwan were desperately searching for any water source that's available; ever since we have reached the Convention Centre. The sun out there was indeed a torture :\ They didn't bring water bottles with them and were about to die of thirst! Mine was almost empty so I couldn't offer them at all.
Lucky for them that there were water dispensers set up in the holding area :) And they drank glass after glass of the ice cold water!! xD

Very soon, it was time for our final intensive rehearsal. Terrence, our dance instructor, came in and got everyone's attention by shouting his usual line, "Hunks and Babes!"; which he thinks it's better than calling us "boys and girls" xD He's a very humorous person that makes his speeches and talks very funny and interesting :D And of course, he is a excellent dancer and teacher. *thumbs up*
Anyway, Terrence said that he will be bringing us over to the event location later so that he can tell us our positions and what we are suppose to do during the event itself. In the meantime, the dance song (combination of three songs - Gonna Make You Sweat, That Thing You Do and Baby) will be played in repeat mode and we will be rehearsing the dance steps again and again and again! I have to say... IT WAS VERY TIRING!!! Dx

Group A and B were up first. We were assigned our standing positions and was told where and when to move in; as different groups will come in at different timing.
I secretly ran back to my bag to grab my camera so that we can not pay attention and start taking pictures of everything and ourselves :P

After all the arranging and briefing, we finally get to do a full-run of the dance performance at the actual event scene! And of course, we did rehearse the full-run a couple more times before being chased out by the hall preparation people. We were actually delaying their preparation! xD

Anyway, it was time to get dress up! We rushed back to the holding area, grabbed our stuffs - clothes & make up, and raced to the toilets for the cubicles! And ya, the dress code is Glamorous~
We were one of the first to get to the toilet to change. When I was done changing, I went out to find Puikwan and XueNi. But I couldn't find them at all; even trying shouting for their names in the toilet which was pretty embarrassing for me :X I gave up and went back to the holding area to check if they went back there. Edmund told me that he didn't see them at all. So I went back to the toilet to check once more. This time I found them in the handicap toilet!! Apparently, XueNi, being the most kiasu, managed to get to the handicap toilet first xD
Tried to put on my make up in there, but it was pretty hard to do so D: The lighting in the toilet was dim and the mirror was really narrow so all three of us couldn't use it at the same time! I then recalled seeing a place in one of the corridors with a large mirror, plus better lighting of course :P

Halfway through all those phototakings/camwhorings, some random female person approached us and talked to us all of a sudden! Her name is Summer and she wants to learn how to camwhore... Well, I'm not a very good at it though... Anyway, in the end, we ended up taking pictures together O.o

At approximately 6.20pm, we were led out group by group to the Awards Ceremony ballroom through the main entrance - to avoid suspicion *_* Once we were in, our role playing starts! We have to play the role of the guests and mingle around with one another; acting completely cool~
So excited!! :D
After the Guests-of-Honour and VIPs arrived to their table, Terrence, who was playing his role as a waiter, started serving drinks to them. Once the music begins, as seen in the video above, two persons will start the ball rolling. Terrence screamed into one of the guests' ears that it's his favourite song, put down his tray and ran to the front to start dancing as well xD
As the song plays, group by group will start to dance. Group A was up first followed by Group B and lastly Group C and D. Soon all the 300+ of us were dancing - doing our flashmob. It was awesome! It's like one minute we were guests and the next, we were dancers! We certainly took everyone by surprise~~ :D

And with that, our three minutes performance ended spectacularly!♥ We proceeded through the backdoor and into the holding area :) Terrence came back to give us his last speech of appreciation and it became "one of those cantonese tv stars' thank-you speeches after they received their award" kind of speech @.@ Anyway, the committee tried to request an encore for us to perform again but they didn't succeed.
We also registered to receive notices to join more dances in the near future :)

Even though we have spent lots of time practicing/training for this event and only performed for three minutes... Well, that three minutes was the best time I have ever had! It was a rush of adrenaline and a strain to the brain on trying to remember what's the next dance move to do xD! But hey, we did gave the audience a very good performance! I hope I will be able to participate in more choreographed dances like this :) It was uber fun!♥ And thanks for the $75 allowances!
