Kanon Photoshoot | 「龙牙门」

Thursday, October 22, 2009 @ 9:59 PM

::18th Oct 09::

Finally I had a photoshoot. A character from Kanon and the location, at NTU. The character I'm cosplaying should be a 2nd year student, but I'm wearing a 3rd year uniform xD Costume mixed up. It was really hot and windy. I know it sounds contradicting but it's true! The wind messed up the wig as well xD Poor wig :(

Btw, the McDonald's at NTU is really cheap! Are all the McDonald's in schools that cheap??? I bought 6 piece nuggets at $2.80. Anyway, after the photoshoot, XueNi and I made our way to Pioneer MRT Station. I need to collect something from an online seller. I bought red wings hair clips at $2.90.

Then we took the train to Jurong East station and took bus143 to Harbour Front. From there, we took bus 408 to... Labrador Park! I'm going to XueNi's relative's birthday BBQ thing which was happening there. I even asked my brother, Damien to come along :) He rode his bicycle there.

We found this path but we didn't go up and explore.

Because XueNi's parents came to bring us to the BBQ area, which is a chalet there. We placed our bags down. I'm so glad that we came to Labrador Park! As we can go see the Dragon's Teeth Gate there as well. We read about it from the "Seen this Scene that" blog, and now we can see it for ourselves.

Really pretty flowers that I saw :)

Heh.

Follow the signs~

And we found it! Wasn't difficult at all. And we discovered that it was only a replica.

This the best shot that I managed to take.
It was really hard to take the full picture of it.

This rock outcrop replica, the Dragon's Teeth Gate (龙牙门), also known as the "Batu Berlayar" (Sailing Rock). The real one was blew up by the British to widen the gateway. Another rock outcrop also used to stand on the opposite shore of Sentosa. These two rock outcrops formed a gateway at the western entrance to Keppel Harbour.

Wang Da Yuan, a Chinese historian described that they looked like dragon's teeth in his travel tales, thus their name, Dragon's Teeth Gate (龙牙门) was borned. For the name "Batu Berlayar" "Lot's Wife" was in reference to the biblical story of the wife of Abraham's nephew. She was turned into a pillar of salt when she disobeyed divine orders not to look back at the destruction of Sodom, which she was allowed to flee from.

Took a picture with it :D
Little Miss Stubborn & Little Miss Whoops.

Btw, the skies there was really lovely as well :)

Here are the other stuffs I saw...

The Belayar Beacon

Photobucket
BBQ and burn down everything!

Photobucket
I spot... Sentosa!~

Photobucket
There was a machine gun pillbox and an obelisk nearby.

Photobucket
Climbed up and took a picture with Damien.
Notice how dark it became so quickly D:

Photobucket
Closer look at the holes where they placed their machine guns out for firing.

Photobucket
This is the entrance to the pillbox...
Creepy, eh? Feels like Silent Hill/Resident Evil/Fatal Frame.
A lot of funny bugs bit my feet :\ Shouldn't have worn slippers.

Photobucket
How it looks inside.
Took a shot quickly and ran away. So scary!! xD

After that, there was nothing much left to see. I think there are probably more but then it was too late and too dark :\ So we went back to the chalet and ate some BBQ stuffs, before going home for dinner. I took the bus408 back home at 8pm and Damien rode his bicycle back home. Thank goodness for that silly direct bus408 that operates on weekends only! And the last bus is at 9pm!

Last shot of the Dragon's Teeth Gate at night xD
