::Yellow Ribbon Prison Run'10::

*Ahem* Here's presenting my very first run; the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run'10 - Beyond the Run. With the help of the Subordinate Courts Sport Committee, we (Puikwan, XueNi and I) were able to register for the run at a price of only $5! The remaining registration fee of $20 will be absorbed by the Subordinate Courts welfare fund. As for Audrey and Daphne who were interested as well, they registered under Individual Registration and had to pay for the full amount too. Corporate Registration FTW :P

By the way, all of us agreed on going for the 6km Fun Run; instead of the 10km Competitive Run. The reason being... this is our very first run! Weren't very sure if we could handle 10km of hardcore endurance test.

Anyway,
Here's some background information on the Yellow Ribbon Project:-

Started in 2004, the Yellow Ribbon Project is a community initiative in Singapore that aims to create awareness of the need to give second chances to ex-offenders, generate acceptance of ex-offenders and their families in the community, and inspire community action to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders into society.

Featuring a unique run route, the signature event of the Yellow Ribbon Project, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010 sets a pace unlike any other run in Singapore. It takes runners past several historical sites in the Changi area; including Johore Battery, Changi Chapel Museum and Old Changi Prison Wall. As runners approached the finish line, they entered the conserved old Changi Prison Gatehouse that leads to the new Changi Prison Complex.

Themed “Beyond The Run”, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run is all about giving ex-offenders a second chance to start afresh. By our participation, we are lending your voice collectively to a message of hope for all ex-offenders “to pick themselves up and to get back on track”.

And so,
I had to wake up really early as I will be meeting my friends at Tiong Bahru MRT station @6.30am! And guess what? It was raining!!! :\ Pretty unlucky, eh? (O.Q)

Met up with XueNi and Daphne first at Tiong Bahru, boarded the train with Puikwan boarding the train at Outram station and Audrey, later at Paya Lebar station. Rode it all the way to Expo station.

Well... since I didn't have time to change my shoelace to the "Yellow Ribbon" one, I did it on the train instead :P

Another reason was to help set a new record for the
"Most Numbers of Runners Wearing Yellow Shoelaces"
in the Singapore Book of Record.

We reached Expo @7.15am, and by the looks of it... there were lots of people wearing the Yellow Ribbon race shirts or carrying the Yellow Ribbon goodie bag!

Went into the Expo building to relieve selves; and also to attach the D-tag to our shoelaces and to pin the number bib on our shirts. Stuffs to do before the race! :D

With that, it's time to head off to the starting point of the run!! Shuttle bus services were provided to ferry the runners from the Expo MRT station to the start point @SAF field; Farnborough Road (Changi Village).

YOG (Youth Olympic Games) buses were used as the shuttle buses :P

Well, it was still drizzling when we have reached the destination. Volunteers/helpers of the event were distributing ponchos to the runners. Looks like they were well-prepared for such unfortunate weather that might occur... like now (O.Q) At least, the run would not be cancelled.

Once this action (of equipping the ponchos) was completed by all five of us, we queued up to deposit our bags. Volunteers/helpers gave out big plastic bags to each of us; so that we could put our bags in and then secure the plastic bags. As a result, our bags won't get wet/dirty when we deposited them into the Baggage Area.

Final shot before we begin~

Past through the starting point and we were on our way to complete the 6km run! Couldn't really run in such wet weather. Opted to jogging and brisk walking instead. Whenever I began to pick up my speed, the wind would either blow my poncho hood off (defenses from rain, down) or press the sides of the hood against my face (in turn suffocating me). So yea, this proves my point that running in poncho... sucks! :X However, Audrey, Puikwan and I ran up and down every single slopes we encountered xD! And waited for the rest to catch up to us :P

The 6km route would take us past several historical and prison sites in the Changi area. The sites are the Selarang Park Community Supervision Centre (SPCSC), Johore Battery, Lloyd Leas Work Release Camp (LLC), Changi Chapel/Museum, Changi Women's Prison (CWP), Tanah Merah Prison (TMP), Changi Prison Wall and lastly, the Changi Prison Complex (CPC).

As for the route: SAF Field ► Loyang Avenue ► Abingdon Road ► Cosford Road ► Upper Changi Road North ► Changi Prison Complex.

Finally, we reached the Johore Battery - one of the famous main historical landmarks in Changi. It comprises a labyrinth of underground tunnels, used to store ammunition for three 5-inch Monster guns , which the British has constructed for the integrated coastal defence of Singapore in 1939.

And I supposed that is one of the Monster guns xD

Ah~ We have encountered a fork in the road! A split road for the 10km and 6km runners.
Turn left for 10km and straight ahead for 6km.

& of course, we are of "6KM Runner" :P

Another historical site - the Changi Prison Wall!
Built in 1936, Changi Prison was the last prison built by the British.
A stretch of 180 metres, the Changi Prison Wall and its two corner turrets were preserved to honour the memory of our World War II veterans.

Teehee. With that, we have completed our first 6km run :D We managed to survive through the wet and cold during the run. It was real fun finishing this run together. As a result from this run, we were drenched from the rain! Even our shoes and socks were really wet D: Believe me, the feeling of wetness was gross and squishy (._.)

Okay okay, so we made our way back to the Baggage Area to retrieve our bags. Due to the rain, the grass field has evolved to a muddy field with puddles of water everywhere! The worst thing was... out of all the colour coded baggage point, we just had to deposit our bags at the green point; which most people have also deposited their bags there (@.@) In the end, we too had to queue with all those people as well... D:

After the long wait, we managed to finally get back our beloved bags. We hurried over to collect our goodie bags and then proceeded to the carnival area of the event! :D

Also, there were some people walking around with locks around their neck. They were "ex-offenders" looking for people to unlock them; giving them a second chance to start afresh. And we (Puikwan and I) were asked to do the honour of unlocking their second "prison" with a really huge key!

In turn, we received two complimentary tickets to the Science Centre each! :D

Reached Expo @11.30am. Time to look for lunch! :D Well, that's after we have changed out of our wet clothes :P Lucky for us, we did bring along some extra clothes. And we decided to have our lunch at Texas Chicken after seeing a banner of it. Never eaten there before! :D

With that, we took the train over to Suntec Convention Hall for Comex 2010!! IT Fair here we come! Met up with Joshua over there as well :P He's gonna help me pick a camera~ So yea, we kinda split up to look for the IT stuffs we wanted - XueNi, Joshua and I for cameras / Audrey, Daphne and Puikwan for mp3 player (Puikwan's).

And I managed to choose one out of all those Canon cameras!!! (Yep, I'm dropping Sony and picking Canon this time round) Wanted to get one of those more manual type of digital camera. So I have chosen Canon Powershot SX210 IS (comes in black, gold and purple - I picked gold though) :D!! It costed me $599 + $70 for extension of warranty.

XueNi, Joshua and I popped over to Funan IT mall to look for Joshua's camera; because he couldn't find what he have in mind at Comex. Oh well~ Anyway, he managed to get his at the mall. Not a wasted trip! And also, I bought a third party spare battery for Mr. Golden. Extra life force (^o^)b

Anyway, few weeks later, I received my certificate of participation through mail! :D

Teehee, I have yet to show you what's in the goodie bag as well!

but I really like this special one of a kind “Key” memento,
which symbolize the key to unlocking the second prison for ex-offender in the community.

And so,
It was a very fruitful day for me :) My very first 6km run. My new camera.

We too, found out that 6km running distance was quite endurable. So we decided to up the challenge and take on 10km next time round. So next up, NIKE CITY 10K - SG vs. KL!!!

:: A Walk in SengKang Forest ::

Remember the online nature trekker, SiYang, who I asked directions on how to get to the Tuas Grassland’s pitcher plants? Link to post Well, I contacted him on Facebook message; asking him questions regarding these nature treks. And yea, he has invited me along one of his many field trips of forest bashing; with his friends. Whee~ This time round would be at the forest just opposite SengKang riverside park. I managed to get Joshua invited in as well; so that I won’t be lonely during the trip. Heh :X

We were to meet at Fernvale station @9.30am. And also to wear long pants, hiking shoes and comfortable long sleeves shirt - necessary for forest bashing activity. However, I do not own any hiking shoes... so I have to make do with my sneakers :X Moreover, to be prepared to get dirty 'cos the trail might be muddy D: Hopefully not!!!

Met up with Joshua first on that day and we made our way to Fernvale. SiYang texted me and told me to alight at Thanggam station instead; as it was nearer to our destination. Joshua and I were twenty minutes late :( Wasn't very sure about the SengKang LRT line. My very first time taking it. SiYang and his friends - Hazelina, PeiYa and WenQing (btw, they are all like NUS people!!) were already there on time! So they went off to scout the area for a bit.

We all met up at the trail entrance which is at the left of the station, introductions made and let's move on! SiYang told me that there are many forest fragments in Singapore; and it's interesting to bash in to see what's inside. And for this particular forest used to be a plantation, evident from the lots of fruit trees - durian, rambutan, starfruit, growing there.

With that, we strolled back to the Thanggam station; where they all retrieved their bicycles (yes, they rode here on their bicycles!!) And said to meet up at SengKang mall for lunch :P After lunch at Kopitam, we went to the event space in the middle of the shopping mall; where there's some Gundam event/exhibition going on. Joshua is really interested in Gundams... for me, I think they are GunDAMNs... not my cup of tea :\ So we just hung around for a bit - checking out the Gundam displays and gachapon machines.

IMO, I had loads of fun with this forest bashing. Learnt a lot more about plants; although I didn't quite get their scientific names... SiYang and his friends were identifying all the plants with their scientific names! All sort of plants; even those plants with no interesting features, just plants with common green leaves - they could even identify them. They are like in a whole different league from commoners like me D: I really admire them!♥ Thanks so much, SiYang, for inviting me and my friend Joshua, along for this trek! :) (even though you only know me online.)

GV Grand: Seoul Garden

::2nd September 2010::

Yet another dinner outing with my GV peeps! Even though, I’m no longer a staff in GV anymore. I still want to meet up with my favourite GV people (though some of them, we no longer meet up anymore… O.Q) Anyhow this time round, the outing will be at Seoul Garden steamboat/barbeque buffet. These people really love their buffets… lucky for them, they are able to eat a whole lot. But for me? Q.Q

Anyway, we met up at Bugis @7.30pm. First to arrive were Kelvin, Laura, WenJie and me! So we went to Seoul Garden first to get seats. Soon the rest followed after. LengShan was able to turn up for this outing :D! & I got to play with Irshad’s new canon ixus camera (which he got from the GV jackpot card) – I really like the light effects function; kinda like those heart/stars bokeh effects… PRETTY!

After dinner, we were wondering where to go and what to do. We kinda decided on watching a movie. So we headed down to Cineleisure to check out the movies and seat availability. To our disappointment, the seats were pathetic. We hung around/loitered around the level. LengShan, WenJie and I tried out the newest Bishi Bashi game!! It was really fun and the point system was somehow different (it’s in Japanese… not really sure but it seems different :X) & if you managed to make it to the top score page, you can have your picture taken and it will appear beside your score! xD

Anyway, we also met Khir there. He was going to watch a late night movie with his other friends. Since there’s nothing left we could do. We home-d by cab.

It was only when I reached home then I realized my rainbow camera pouch which consist of my spare camera battery, WAS NO LONGER IN MY BAG!!! I suspected that I might have actually left it at the Bishi Bashi game machine; all the way at Cineleisure. I pretty much panicked and called WenJie first. Got Irshad’s number from WenJie and from there, I got Khir’s number.

His movie was about to start and I have to get through to him quick!! But he didn’t seem to be answering his phone… until the very last minute!! He finally answered his phone! He said that he was about to enter into the theatre already. Phew... in a nick of time! I asked Khir to quickly look around the Bishi Bashi machine for my rainbow pouch. But he said there was no pouch to be found :( Then all of a sudden, I heard him talking to someone. Little did I know that… that particular someone actually found my rainbow pouch and waited there for someone to come looking for it! The stranger passed it over to Khir (which I collected the pouch from him in a few days time; through WenJie). Such a nice stranger! :O Thank you so much. May good things come in return to you~ xD I said my thanks to Khir and hung up. & I heaved a humongous sigh of relief when the whole episode was finally over and done with.

Work at Subordinate Courts; SCT, gets easier as the days went by. Overall it's a pretty okay job where there's time to relax, chat and play :) Of course, that's excluding the nasty court users, sudden change of procedures and annoying people like AD, KS, CS... O.Q

Hmm, this post would usually contains stuff relating to SCT. But of course, none of the stuff posted would be work related (can't be post also... the cases are private and confidential... and also BORING!) Only the fun n exciting will be posted and they will be posted in random order...

Those charts in the picture above are actually check list for us opening the different types of boxes (red, purple, gold) in Pet Society. We would get random items from the boxes we opened. Our aim is for everyone to obtain every single item that is available from the boxes xD

My parents bought a cockatiel for my paternal aunt as a birthday present because her first cockatiel flew away. So here's the new pearl cockatiel; still looking very awkward and clumsy :P

This very photoshoot is our first photoshoot with XueNi as our wonderful photographer :) We (XueNi, Puikwan and I) have planned this photoshoot one month before. Actually... we wanted to do a photoshoot way before, but it was really hard to think of a theme :( It must be some outfit that all of us (the models :X) can put together and form a theme! So yes :D We managed to set on a theme and the location as well :D

The reason for having a photoshoot is to help XueNi up her skills on photography and for us, her posers to receive beautiful pictures of ourselves to use for display picture :X So this particular shoot was for XueNi to try out and practice on her portrait shots :)

& thus the test subjects of the day will be Puikwan, Yvonne and me :D
The theme would be black/white lolita/kodona style.
The location... the abandoned Clementi railway bridge!
Groovy~ :P

THE DAY!
They headed over to my house in the morning @11am. But it was raining :( For a moment, our plan was heading to destruction... Either we find another place to shoot indoors or postpone the other shoot to a further date :( But it was really hard to do either of the ways... we didn't know any places to shoot indoors and there weren't any dates in the near future that all four of us are free and not occupied.

Meanwhile, Koko also had an exclusive photoshoot :3
He must be thinking, "I'm so handsomeeee~~ Pose more!!" :D

However in the early afternoon, the skies were no longer sad and crying :D Lucky~♥ Quickly, we put our make-up on, dressed and out of the house we went!~

Took a bus to Clementi to have our lunch (lots of people staring at us @.@) and another bus to some HDB area in Clementi. From there, we have to walk through the HDB blocks and finally reached to some soil path that leads the railway tracks. The weather was so humid after the rain! I think we were practically trying our best not to perspire D:!

XueNi was rather stunned when she saw that the soil pathway was covered with tall grass. She almost didn't managed to find the railway tracks because they too were covered with grass. So we followed the tracks which lead us to the abandoned railway bridge~

At first, we were really scared to walk on top of the bridge covered with rust and old wooden planks. Each step we took on the bridge, caused it to creak and groan loudly D: And what's below us was a fall of death. It was pretty high and below us was a really huge canal. We were slowly inching across the bridge so that we can begin our photoshoot!! But after awhile, we got used to the painful sounds the bridge was making and started walking normally like we were on flat land.

Our shoot was brought to an end when the sun was no longer high up in the skies. Went back to start of the tracks to get our bags... and to our ultimate horror, our bags were crawling with ants!!! SMALL BLACK ANTS!! We immediately picked up our bags and rushed back to the HDB area. At the closest void deck, we began getting rid of the ants by shaking and sweeping them off our bags. XueNi, Puikwan and my bags weren't very serious; the ants only crawled on outside.

But as for Yvonne's... it was a nightmare. Ants were everywhere; inside and outside. Ants could be found in every single pocket and compartment. Apparently, she brought sweets in her bag... and that might be the reason to her ants infestation. Yvonne had to take everything our from her bag and shake the bag vigorously to get all the ants off and out!

After the ants excitement, we took some finishing shots and made our way to the bus stop to board the return bus back to Clementi train station.

At the station, we (Puikwan and I) went to the toilet first to change out of our not-so-ordinary clothes and into our oh-so-ordinary ones :P Puikwan took off her wig; as she couldn't wear it any longer! As for me, I'm rather used to wigs :X So I wore it till I got home :)

... we left the toilet in disgusted... someone was actually expelling her feces in the public toilet... we couldn't stand the pungent smell at all! With that, we all home-ed and began our anxious wait for the pictures to be process :D

!! 夏祭り 2010 !!

::21st August 2010::

It's here again! The once a year Japanese traditional event is back in Changi Japanese primary school - Natsu Matsuri 2010!! :D Though I still recalled about last year's event where I have to queue... like forever! It was a terrible experience to queue for a long time; standing! But for this year, JiaQing was able to get advance tickets!! :D So no more queuing for tickets; just need to queue to get in and of course, for yukatas :P

And so,
With the advance tickets in our hands, we still decided to go there two hours earlier - in case we have to fight for the yukatas! B'cos there are limited yukatas for rent and we don't want to be disappointed like last year :(

ShunAn, WenJie, Puikwan and I met up at Tiong Bahru for lunch first before taking the train to Simei station. We then, waited for Yvonne and her friend, ZiFang to arrive and altogether, we took bus5 to the Changi Japanese primary school.

To our horror, there's already a queue along the school parameter! It was only 1.45pm and the school gates will only be open for entry @4pm. Thank goodness we decided to go there early. And so, we immediately took our places at the tail of the queue and... waited.

Anyway, we got really tired from standing for what-seems-to-us-was-a-very-long-time. Soon our legs grew weak and we all dropped on the ground, seated. Since the queue ain't gonna move at all until 4pm, might as well relax~ But the ground was scorching hot and the sun was burning down on us D: We took out our umbrellas to shelter from the angry sun! :D

Next, we got so bored that we (Puikwan, ShunAn, WenJie and I) started playing a really dumb game of "Oyabayasom" (I have no idea what's the actual name called... maybe it doesn't have one at all! :\) that involves slapping the lap/thigh of the odd one out. So in the end of all the rounds, we had really red, stinging thighs (@.@)

One point of time, ShunAn even spotted TingYu among the queue behind us!! I gave her a quick call to confirm her identity and we (ShunAn, Puikwan and me) rushed over to take picture with her :D

And the waiting went on... until we were drying up from the sun! WenJie volunteered to take the bus back to Simei and help all of us to buy bubble teas back. So nice of him~ Thanks WenJie♥ So I ordered my special drink - watermelon red tea with small pearls :) Anyway, he knows what I always drink so there's no need to tell him my order actually :X

While waiting for WenJie to come back with the teas, the queue actually started to move! (O.O) Seems like everyone began to get up from their sitting position. Looks like it's time for the school gates to open... soon...

Thank goodness, WenJie was able to make it back in time; with the teas :P

Just to mention again... YES! WE HAVE ADVANCE ADMISSION TICKETS TO NATSU MATSURI 2010!!!!! We bypassed the queue for admission tickets and walked straight into the school :P Have a nice time queuing for tickets, people with no advance tickets :X

Once we were in the foyer area, we quickly made our way to the queue for the yukata wearing. We were pretty much afraid that we might not get the yukatas at all :( But once we received the number tags (F# for female, M# for male) at the counter, we were saved :D! The guys, ShunAn and WenJie, then went off to their male dressing room; while we girls queued up at the female dressing room.

And so, our numbers were from F55 onwards :P
Had to fill up some form for the rental of the yukata and obi :)

At the looks of it, the queue seems pretty long (well, judging from the numbers we have. We were most probably the #55 - #58 persons onwards) and it's moving pretty slowly. It's like a few people would go in and a few people would go out. But still!!! It was slow D:

So bored that we ended up playing with the ribbons they gave us (@.@)
The ribbons were later used to secure the yukata at the waist :P

We finally reached the start of the queue
and were able to see the guys queuing on the opposite side! :3

...which was after thirty minutes later... Yes! We waited for a whole thirty minutes before it's our turn to get into the dressing room. The whole process was pretty rush... gave form back, paid $3 rental fee ($2 for the yukata, $1 for the obi), took the random yukata that they were giving out and also the slippers (geta じゃない?). Went over to the available helpers that were there to help us to wear our yukatas :) Wow, the helper had to fold up my yukata as it was too long and the ribbon + obi were tied tightly so that the yukata won't open up and expose my body :$

After fifteen minutes in there, the girls were all dressed up and ready to go forth into the festival! But the guys were not; which was pretty weird because ShunAn's number tag was M35... By the way, we couldn't stride in big steps now; due to the restriction of the yukata D: So we were forced to behave like gentle-ladies (@.@)

Okay okay, enough of photos taken. It's time to move on! So many booths to see, so many queues to queue! However there were lots of people as well... as foretold, the number of people would increase as the years go by... But first, before we started queuing up... we went to the washroom first :X

Yay, finally I got to eat the Japanese curry rice!! :D I have been longing for it since last year's Natsu Matsuri :3 Well, the food was great; except for the pork slice omelette which was undeniably a very small slice...

While we were strolling along; chatting outside in the open, I've received a call from Kelvin! Kaikai is already here, in the school for the Natsu Matsuri!!! We quickly maneuvered through the crowds of people and finally found him in front of the Meiji Ice Cream booth :D

*Ahem* We were to proceed out onto the huge school field!! :D Just as I was wondering where all the game booths were, we spotted them out at the corner of the field!! WenJie went to purchase some game coupons and we (Yvonne, ZiFang, WenJie and I) went to queue up for the "Yoyo Tsuri" game. The rest were busy being trigger happy in the middle of the field. As we approached nearer and nearer to the game station, the ground seems to be getting muddier with each step :( Luckily those weren't my slippers :X

Anyway, I went back to find the trigger happy people and join in the fun as well :P Had to take more pictures with Puikwan as she need to leave @7pm for some other activities later.

With that over and done, Puikwan had to leave us already (of course, she had to go back to the dressing room to return her yukata and slippers xD). As for Yvonne and ZiFang, they were nowhere to be seen. Until we spotted them near the swimming pool site... taking pictures of themselves! xD So we made our way over there to sit and rest... but ended up taking pictures as well! Dx

Then I found out that they were making the water yoyo balloons by the pool!!!
It's like I'm paying $2 to try to get one of those and in the end, I still get nothing... O.Q~

Later JiaQing found us and using his DSLR, he helped us took some wonderful shots :D

The skies were getting darker; but there were still lots of people on the field - walking around, watching the stage performances, sitting on mats... @7.30pm, we were actually pretty tired so we decided to return our yukatas and go homeeee~ However... we only can return them @8.30pm!!! T.T~ So it's time to take pictures of ourselves all over again (@.@) As for Yvonne and ZiFang, I think they disappeared into the side dressing room to take pictures of themselves also xD!

Yvonne and ZiFang have already gone off. So we're left with Edmund, WenJie, ShunAn and me~ Four of us left the school together; taking back with us only pictures and memories of the event.

Really glad that we were able to get the advance tickets which in turn allowed us to rent the yukatas :D Thanks to JiaQing again! Had so much fun. Not sure if we were able to get advance tickets again for next year though... We'll see... :P

This particular post consists of picnicking, downpours, kite flying and "Happy MooDay (#2)".

::14th August 2010::

This event was organized by me and my subcommittee members was XueNi and Puikwan. It has been really long since I last organized an outing for my clique :P Activity, location, time, everything was set and planned accordingly. It would be a picnic/kite flying outing with a bonus celebration item to top it up :D As for the picnic, it was more of a pot luck where everyone have to contribute something in one way or another :P XueNi, Puikwan and I decided to combine efforts and produce three food items together. More efficient, no?

& it was confirmed and eight of us will be there; late or not.
Date: 14th Aug 2010
Time: 11.30am
Meet up point: Marina Bay MRT station
Location: Marina Barrage
Theme: Yellow / Blue

And so, it was carried out!
I met up with Puikwan early at Anchor Point; Cold Storage to obtain the remaining items/ingredients that was not bought yet. Once done, we made our way over to XueNi's house. Yep, we're going to use her house kitchen for the preparation of food :D

And our food items for the picnic were:- onigiri, ham & egg mayo sandwiches, tako-looking sausages and chicken cheese springrolls. So let's get cooking~

First food item to be prepared was the onigiri (=riceballs). Rice was already prepared by XueNi before we came up to her house. Using the onigiri molds that we've bought from Daiso, rice was placed first, followed by the stuffing - ham/tuna/egg mayo and then rice again :P Pressing the mold together and poof! an onigiri was created :D Lastly, covering them with seaweed...

Two boxes worth! :D

Second food item was sandwiches. Really simple; using the leftover stuffing of the riceballs and applying to the bread pieces. Third item:- tako-looking sausages. Sausages were cut cross-section-ally and thrown into the frying pan.

Fourth item was the chicken cheese springrolls. This was the most challenging product of all! It was our first time making and frying springrolls! Started with laying out the springroll skin, putting a piece of chicken meat, half a slice of cheese; wrapped it up and dropped into the boiling hot oil. It was an immediate failure :X Half a slice of cheese was too much! So it melted out of the springroll skin and destroying the entire pan of oil. Burnt...

So in comes the second tryout, reducing the cheese slice and yeah, it turned out alright. But due to the fact that there were already pieces of burnt cheese remains in the pan of oil, they kinda got stuck to all the springrolls we threw in D: So Puikwan was in charge of the "Quality Check" of the springrolls. She would scrapped off all the burnt cheese of the springroll exterior and the springrolls looked alright and less disgusting looking :X Good thing that those of the people who were going to eat them don't know how they looked like before the QC operation. Anyway, XueNi's grandma came in to help us with the frying; which we were so horrible at it :X

Oh ya! ShunAn came down to XueNi's house as well so that we could make our way to Marina Barrage together; but since we were not done with our cooking, he would just have to wait for us or chip in a little help. Using the really left over ingredients, we made ourselves sandwiches for a little breakfast :P

Okay okay, we were actually running late by then (@.@) We quickly packed and tidied up everything before proceeding to leave the house. Ended up, we took a cab to Marina Barrage instead of the usual public transport. We actually saw Shuhua, Joshua and Moo when our cab past by the Marina Bay bus stop. Sooo~ As a matter of fact, we were earlier than them :P

Once we have reached the Marina Barrage, we went up to the Green Roof to see whether it was crowded and also, to "chop" place if possible :X Phew~ There was a bit of a crowd but I was actually expecting more than that; probably due to the weather because there were dark clouds approaching in the distance. Please don't let it rain (O.Q) We placed our stuffs down on an unoccupied bench and waited for the latecomers to arrive.

they have taken the wrong bus; no wonder they haven't arrived yet after so long!! And had to take a cab over to Marina Barrage in the end... (=.=)

After seeing them at the bus stop earlier, we knew what team they belong to... Team Blue! So we kept looking out for any blue shirts wearers walking up to the Green Roof. When asked what shade of blue they were wearing, I pointed up to the dark clouds and say "LIKE THAT LOH!" - which meant they were wearing dark blue shirts. And with that, throughout the day we started using the phrase, "Like that loh" xD

& at last,
After the extremely long wait, Joshua, Moo and Shuhua have finally reached!

With that,
Since everyone was pretty much hungry, we ignored the impending dark clouds and started off with our picnic! xD Laid out the groundsheet that Joshua has provided, placed our bags on it to prevent it from flying away; and lastly took the food items out and displayed them out for all to see! :3

The rest contributed utensils, plates, cups and non-edible stuffs like that; excluding Edmund who will be bringing the drinks! The funny thing was... he would be arriving late D: Thirst is upon us!!!

Anyway, just as we were going to start on our picnic... the clouds cried and their tears fell onto us... All of us scrambled to pack up all stuffs and protect the food items (wouldn't want additional ingredients, right?); once we have gotten everything, we ran for shelter!! As we ran, the drizzle has evolved to a full fledged downpour. From the Green Roof, down the ramp and all the way to the first level. Moo was the last one down; b'cos he had to reel back his kite!! (@.@)

The rain ain't gonna spoil our moods now! We laid out the groundsheet and continued our picnic once more. As we ate, we grew thirsty and Edmund hasn't arrived yet! But once he did, we were extremely glad to see him carrying all those 1.5litre bottles of drinks :D However... he was a Team Blue member D: 3 vs. 4, ya? Audrey!! Please be of Team Yellow!!! T.T

Fun, fun, fun. (#2)

We put aside some food for Audrey ~~(more like leaving her the leftovers... oops :X)~~. However, she only reached @3pm and... she is in YELLOW!!! :D Four vs. Four! Of equal standing :P Well, we were done with the picnic and everyone has already arrived... AND THE RAIN HAS STOPPED!!!

Okay okay, event over and done with! Time to let the kites out and be free to soar in the skies! Up, up to the Green Roof! Due to the rain earlier, the grass on the Green Roof was really wet and somehow muddy. Thank goodness for the slippers I have worn.

So let's start flying the kites!
To start off, we decided on bring the squid up in the skies first :D

It's a real big kite indeed! Much bigger than me!

And yes! It's up!

It wasn't very easy trying to the big squid kite up! We tried lots of times but the squid ended up committing suicide each time. So we decided to change our location and with a little help from Audrey, we managed to MAKE IT STAY IN THE SKIES!!! :D Maybe it's due to the wind condition and maybe the squid didn't like the previous location very much :X

Now it "swims" with the other squids
like an alternate sea world above our heads :D

Well, instead of joining us trying to fly the squid kite, Edmund and ShunAn decided to give the small kite a try :) However, their way of trying to make the kite fly was... speechless xD! They ran with the kite trailing behind them and hope that the kite might glide on the wind and soar in turn. But that didn't work out... So they dumped the kites and went around cursing other people's kites down xD!!

Well, I think they had their fun at it :P

Anyway, Shuhua and I also tried our hands on Joshua's diamond stun kite. And guess what? We gave up almost immediately! xD It was really tough to make the kite fly. Couldn't even get it up soaring for even a minute :\

IT FAILED!!!! orz

Shuhua went back to rest beside Puikwan. I made my way over to disturb them and in turn, they showed me how to fly an umbrella... (@.@)

& all the kites were flying in the same direction, against the wind~

Kay, kay. Enough of the intermission.
Time to fly the Firebird kite!!

Started off by unreeling out some strings of the Firebird kite.

This kite is so big that I could use it for hang gliding!! D:

Apparently the Firebird kite was really easy to fly. Much easier than the squid kite. Maybe it's due to the structure of the kite and also the current wind condition? Blehx, I don't know much about kite physics :( Anyway, both of our wonderful kites were up! Soaring in the skies, getting higher and higher with every seconds count!

Until our kites were so high that no one's kites were able to sabotage them and bring them back to earth. Even if the other kites come tangling with ours, too bad for them for they are all gonna hit the ground :P The wind resistance up there must be too strong!! :D

Soon, Edmund, ShunAn, Puikwan and me ran out of things to do and were kinda tired of flying kites :X And since, the squid kite in-charge was Moo and the Firebird - Audrey. We decided to go up to them and the other members of the clique; and take pictures with them :D Using ShunAn's long arm as the tripod, ShunAn was the one with the camera and he went trigger happy :P

Approximately 6.30pm, we decided to call it a day :) But first, we have to reel our kites back to earth! And little that we know, it was one of the worst part of flying a kite!! We shouldn't have let the kites flown so high, if we know that the retrieving back part would take fifteen minutes to do so. The strong wind resistance up there in the atmosphere must have cause friction, making it harder to reel the kites back. It took really long that all of us were tired of pulling and reeling the kites down to the ground.

& finally the orange squid was out of the skies :)

Now it's time to pack the kites up; which was another tedious process - especially for the orange squid and its long tentacles!

IMO, the event was a success :D All activities - picnic, kite flying and special bonus of celebrating of Moo's birthday were all accomplished! Even though it rained, it didn't put us off! We still had much fun, fun, fun :P Hope that I have more of such outings in the future with this clique of mine and of course, I will be RETIRING FROM BEING AN ORGANISER~~ (^o^)b

Moo's secondary school friend, EnPing invited some of us, his tertiary school friends, to celebrate his birthday in advance (which was also one day before). Shuhua, Joshua and I accepted the invitation and were to meet at *SCAPE @7.30pm to 7.45pm - fifteen minutes of late allowance was issued. Audrey was unable to go in the end; due to overtime at work.

And so,
I met up with Joshua at Somerset MRT station after my work. Either he was really late or I was really early. Anyway, I still waited for him for a really long time. Like forty-five minutes or so! I sat there like a hobo; facing the control station and read my book. & finally, he reached and we met up with Shuhua (@Somerset) and EnPing (@*SCAPE) later on.

EnPing has already made reservations at the Raindrop Café at *SCAPE (obviously!! if not, why are we meeting there?!) Soon everyone - that is of Moo's secondary school friend status; arrived and including Moo, himself. And the ordering of food began :)

Then someone brought out the idea of drinking. I was kinda reluctant to go but since Shuhua really wanted to go; so I just went along to accompany her. If not, she would be alone with people that she wasn't close with! D: b'cos Joshua was going to follow whatever decision I were to make :X & the bar was decided:- Eski Bar! The bar that we didn't go to for the previous DDD session. And moreover, this outing has evolved into a DDD session as well!

Took two cabs among ourselves... when we reached Eski Bar, we found out that the bar was full! So we ended up wandering around Circular Road, looking for less crowded bar and found ourselves at the Cannery; Clarke Quay - still looking for a place to drink (@.@) It's a Friday; for goodness sake! Everywhere will be crowded!! D:

Finally, we managed to get seats and settled down at the Clinic - a really interesting and unique bar with a pharma-kitsch décor with paraphernalia in all manner of the clinical :D The drinks were really expensive to me; so I didn't order anything. The rest did and I just took sips out of everyone's glass. I love what Joshua ordered - Grasshopper (cocktail). It has this really minty and refreshing taste to it :P

Happy 45th National Day, Singapore!

Yes, it's our nation birthday! But I'm not doing anything to celebrate it (@.@) not even watching the National Day Parade and wearing the colours - red and white. Well, since it's a public hoilday and apparently most of us are free :D We decided to meet up @Great World City McDonald's to start on Moo's present (yes, we always make something as part of the birthday present; be it a message board, photo scrapbook... you get the drift :X)

Well, the meeting time was set @1pm. So I went to watch movie (Sorcerer's Apprentice) with WenJie @11.10am; and after my movie, I made my way down to McDonald's. Audrey was the first one there and we managed to get the table with many seats :D There will be eight of us - Audrey, Joshua, Shuhua, Edmund, ShunAn, XueNi, Puikwan and me; you see. The reason why we chose Great World City's was... hardly anyone goes to there anymore :X So it would be less crowded and we won't get chase out for occupying their tables for too long :D No peak periods~

Soon everyone arrived; excluding Puikwan who was really late :P We really got busy designing, decorating and writing our birthday wishes/messages. The funny thing was no one brought scissors! I had to go up to GV Grand to borrow a pair of scissors from them. Luckily I used to work there so... it was alright and no one had to spend money to buy scissors.

Happy Birthday, Augusta!

And so,
After my subct work, I went to meet my GV friends at The Heeren, 7pm!! I will try to seize every chance of meet up opportunities b'cos if I don't, we would just cease being friends :( so this particular meet up here is to celebrate Augusta's birthday!! (which was yesterday.. heh, belated :P)

And Augusta has chosen to eat at a Japanese buffet restaurant, Kiseki (miracle in Japanese). When all have gathered, we went to the basement of The Heeren, pay up and it's time to EAT!!! :D

So afterward, Candy went off first; leaving us behind :( Anyway, the guys decided to play the finger guessing game (猜拳) to clear up all the leftover sashimi. But of course, it ain't that simple! The sashimi have to be first mix in various kinds of sauces - white chocolate fondue, mayonnaise... and more; before serving to the loser. Gross right? Luckily I don't know how to play and don't eat sashimi. So I was excused :P

After the cake has been eaten and pictures taken (we were like the only customers left in the restaurant!), Augusta's friends went off first and we decided to make our way to the arcade, Zone-X @Dhoby Ghaut station. It was really close to 11pm then; which was the arcade's closing time. But we still went ahead and played the game!!! Don't care arrr~

When it was minutes away from 11pm, Augusta was playing some fighting video arcade game and we were just standing around him spectating his battle. & the moment the clock struck 11pm, the arcade staffs would just switched off the main power and every video games would black out; even the lights were out. The game that Augusta was playing did a black void thing (you know when you off your TV or monitor, there will be this black void thing where the pictures seems to get suck into the monitor? Ya, something like that happened.) appeared and the screen went dead. At that point of time, I thought it was some character's super power... before my mind registered that the staffs have switched off the main power... Suddenly I felt really dumb inside D:

We went out of the dark arcade and out onto the streets. Hung around the entrance of The Cathay, planning and discussing what should we do next; while the smokers... smoked. In the end, it was too late to do anything conducive... So we all home-d instead and wait for the next meet up/gathering to be planned :P!

::New Moon Big Walk 2010::

It was a rather unexpected decision that Audrey, Daphne, Lisa, Puikwan and me have made; to participate in the New Moon Big Walk 2010 - One Nation. One Walk. One Cause. I was a little reluctant at first to join this event; b'cos I have to pay $25 for a 5km walk (@.@) But in the end, I still went ahead with it; as my friends were joining and it's for charity.

Some background information on the Big Walk Project:-
The New Moon Big Walk is a community project, started by New Moon. This community project which involves 17 constituencies in the north east district will benefit the needy families.

For every registrant, New Moon will donate 100 bowls of rice to the needy families in the North East District. The target is 500,000 bowls of rice.

Besides the food donation, New Moon will also contribute $100, 000 cash towards the North East - New Moon Senior Healthcare Fund for needy seniors. This amount will be matched by North East CDC, bringing the total to $200, 000. The fund is specially dedicated to help needy seniors living in the North East district who are unable to cope with their healthcare needs.

25/07/10 - Goodie Bag Collection

@1pm, we met up at central© for the collection. There were booths already set up on the first level of central© for people to make last minute registration and for collection of the goodie bags. So we presented our identification cards and received our wrist tags and goodie bags :)

With that over and done, I went off to Marina Square (dragging the heavy goodie bag along) for my date with WenJie; while the rest to Katong for their Karaoke session.

And now back to the point!!

It's the first of August and also the Big Walk event day itself! We have to reach Pasir Ris by 7.30am; and the flag-off time for the walk was at 8am! So far x2. Anyway, I'm supposed to meet Lisa and Puikwan at Outram MRT station @6.30am. But due to the very good sleeping weather (yep! it actually rained heavily!), I overslept... As a result, I have to quickly bathe, change and go out of the house! And I finally reached the MRT station @6.50am; by then Lisa and Puikwan have went ahead without me, to meet Audrey and Daphne.

It was raining still when I've reached Pasir Ris and met up with the rest of them who were standing outside White Sands shopping mall. And was told by an announcer that the Big Walk would be delayed by one hour. However if the rain still persists, the event will be canceled and no refunds will be made; as it is for charity.

With lots of time at hand, we went to McDonald's to have our breakfast! :D

Some moments later, an announcer came into McDonald's telling us that the event was not canceled as there's a slight improvement in the weather :D Yay, the rain became a light drizzle and our purpose of going to Pasir Ris can be fulfilled!

*ahem* First... to the toilet!

And then,

We proceeded to the event area by following the crowds of New Moon Big Walk (NMBW) shirts. And we noticed that most of the people were holding the NMBW umbrellas to shelter themselves from the drizzle. Of course, us being typical Singaporeans; wanted one too! And when we saw some NMBW helpers distributing the umbrellas by the side of the road. We made a beeline straight to them to get our FREE umbrellas :P (Actually this umbrella is pretty limited; not everyone will have it... and it was in fact, an OCBC exclusive item - only payment made by OCBC credit card will receive the umbrella)

Now strutting with our new NMBW umbrellas, we walked through the starting point and began our big walk around Pasir Ris Park :)

The atmosphere was kinda humid; caused by the earlier downpour. Ground still wet; filled with puddles that we painstaking tried to avoid stepping in them. Wouldn't want to have wet shoes + socks + feet; you see...

I guess time past pretty fast when you're having fun :) That went the same for us. Ignoring the time and distance gained, we chatted and joked while blindly following the crowd straight on. And we have reached four kilometers checkpoint - Hydration Point!! Yay.

DONUTS AND ICE CREAM, HERE WE COME!

The last 200m was to cross the road and walk back to the event area beside White Sands shopping mall. Easy-peasy :P No sweat, ya~ With a look at the time, we realized we actually took one hour to complete this five kilometers walk! And the best thing was it didn't feel like it took one hour at all! xD Looks like "Time Passes Faster When Having Fun" (^0^)b

Congratulations to us for making it to the finishing point! :D

Time to target those free donuts and ice cream :D The tents were set up at the event area; there was a carnival feel to it :P However, we made the wrong choice by walking straight onto the field... it was extremely muddy. Across the field, received donuts and ice cream and carefully walking out of the field again - the act gave us the reward of extremely muddy pair of shoes D:

And of course, the food rewards :P

After that, we decided not to go back to the event area anymore; in fear of worsening the muddy effect on our poor shoes. So we went to White Sands shopping mall... toilet! To freshen ourselves up with a change of clothes :) It was delightful :D

We sat on the bench outside of the toilet and discussed where to proceed next. With much discussion done, our next destination was Tampines; which is nearest to Pasir Ris. We loitered around Tampines Mall and ended up stuck at the arcade for awhile :P

Anyway, we decided that the arcade there was really boring... not much of the latest games there. Change of location! Onwards to Bugis, iluma!

Once we were there @twelvish, we began strolling our way up to level7 of the iluma shopping mall for arcade! The arcade at level7 consists more of jackpot games and ticket-earning-dispensing games. While the arcade at level6, UFO catchers, music games and fighting games. I would say that I'm more of a level6 person than a level7. Oh well.

Cash were exchanged for tokens and so let the games began! :D

We tried out so many games there, Toami-gyo, driving game, basketball-shooting hoops, trivia game, ball throwing game. Yep, you get the drift... so many games... so much money spent?! But I didn't play all those though :P I'm very selective.

Much fun!

Tick-tock and two hours have past! @2pm, we left level7. Lisa joined me for a game of Jubeat at level6, while the rest went off to Bugis street to carry on with their shopping. & afterward, Lisa and I re-partied with them :)

Hmm~ Classy~♪

After much walking and shopping, we have gotten pretty much tired and hungry. The result of having early breakfast, plus a combination of five kilometers of walking and arcade gaming. We decided to have our late lunch at Nando's. Famous for their Peri-Peri chicken, and thus the long queue.

My, were we stuffed! With that, we strolled around aimlessly for a little while more (to improve digestion :P) before going home... to have more rest! :D

In conclusion, this NMBW is like a training/warm-up session for our incoming run in September :) Yes, all of us decided to sign up for the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run... well, everyone except for Lisa. Get your running shoes on... it's time to get down and run!!!!

GV GRAND stuffs
I'll start with this section first... as it will be the last time it will appeared :(
After I started work at Subordinate Courts (subct), I had this period of two weeks to resign from GV. Yep, due to the new rules and regulations... those who didn't request work for two weeks would be sent a termination letter!

So during the two weeks, I went back to GV Grand regularly after my work at subct; to clear my stuffs in the locker, able to walk in and out of the theatres, office and staff room freely and also to use my last chance of free movie sign-ins!

Anyway, glad that before I left GV...
The conclusion of the "Incentive Program from 8th April to 30th June 2010" was out!! :D
I really had fun during twelve weeks. The teamwork we had together was awesome; the determination and motivation to earn as many points (and of course, deducting the least points :P) was a rush~ Of course, the cash rewards was really motivate us the most :P Only the 1st and 2nd were able to win the CASH. The rest... gets nothing!

My team's points is 5490!! SECOND PLACE!! :D

After signing the resignation form, I went to the staff room for one last time to do a final check of my locker (to see if anything was left behind). And then, walked back to the office to return my GV uniforms, nametag and locker key. (btw, I didn't return my GoldClass nametag and also, the extra set of GoldClass uniform!! :X keepsake items for remembrance!)

It's as bare as Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard.

I began work at Subordinate Courts @5th July 2010. Working as a Court Officer in the Small Claims Tribunal. Work was really hard as first. Much more stuffs to memorize and learn. But thanks to my fellow colleagues (XueNi, Yvonne, ParCun, HuiYing, Rita, Albert, Rita...), I managed to get a hang of it. I think without them, I would die a horrible death! Dx

To sum up, it's $2 for a card. (didn't like it... waste of money D:)

Another of those arcade game craze, Toami-gyo.
Using tokens as nets to catch fishes. Bigger the fish, better the amount of tokens gain.
I used to think it's a waste of money and time too; but when the arcade at Plaza Singapura allowed the tokens to be used to exchange for the UFO catchers' plushies.
That's when I really got down to one of those machine and play! :P
With luck + $2, I'm able to change 20 tokens to over 100 tokens :D
Together with WenJie, we managed to get 350 tokens at our first attempt~

protruding from the nice clean lawn. So I took a closer look :D

DDD: Holland V Expedition!

::30th July 10::

It's one of those polytechnic friends meet up but this time was very different! It's a drinking session; planned out by Shuhua and Moo. Actually, I was reluctant to go at first... b'cos I can't drink and the drinks are like super expensive!! But in the end, I still went for it D:

So there were six of us (Ariel, YuKi, Shuhua, Joshua, Audrey and me) in total; although Audrey arrived a little later (due to school) and Moo was unable to make it (due to other commitments). Anyway we were to reach Buona Vista MRT station @7.30pm. So I went there after my work (no longer GV work anymore but Subordinate Courts work) :D

Anyway,
Once Ariel has reached, we made our way to Holland Village to have our dinner first at the hawker centre. Can't drink on an empty stomach, if I'm not wrong (@.@)

Munch, munch, chomp, chomp, slurp, slurp... Ahhh~
With that, we went to search for the drinking bar we had in mind since the beginning of this trip... Eski Bar!!! A sub zero degree bar! How exciting and interesting~

We explored the inner Holland Village where all the bars/pubs are located... but we couldn't find it. Joshua searched for the location of the bar through the world wide web and we combed the whole of Holland Village again. But it brought us to a dead end! Tried asking for directions; either they don't know where or they pointed out directions that led to nowhere (@.@)

So we went out to the outskirts of Holland Village to try our luck there. We walked until the end, we still found zilch! Asked someone at 3 Monkeys Cafe, just to find out that there's no Eski Bar at Holland Village anymore! We were so disappointed... instead of canceling the drinking session, we decided to go to one of those bars at the central of Holland Village.

Back we walked again...

You know what? We took like forty minutes trying to find the nonexistent Eski Bar! xD Anyway, we decided to go for Tango's instead... but when we look through the menu, we weren't satisfied with the drinks selection there. So we left and proceed to Harry's @Holland V :P

Malaysia - Tioman (Day 3)

Day 3 (19/7):

@8am, we woke up to our the final day here at Tioman... (O.Q) Didn't bother to wake up earlier because breakfast is only served at eight. So we went out to the main foyer to have our breakfast - the selection of food was the same as the day before. Simple :)

Here's a praying mantis that greeted us so early in the morning :D

After our breakfast, we went back to our rooms to pack all our things back into our baggage; wouldn't want to do it last minute, right? Well, I finished packing my baggage in a jiffy; and as for Puikwan, she had lots to pack!!! ∑(O_O；)！！

Since we had lots of time to spare left , we decide to go out to the beach (right in front of our resort rooms!!) to relax and enjoy the island life for a wee more before heading back to the hectic life of the busy city, Singapore :(

Anyway, we discovered a hammock swinging between two trees! So we had a go with it :P

After which, we pretty much got bored and decided to explore the left side ← of Kampong Genting (we have already explored the right side on Day1). So we walked further down and crossed a bridge over to the other side. Timer. Tripod. Camera. Set!

And we reached another part of the beach... Audrey, Daphne and Lisa stayed off the beach and sat at some benches which were placed by the beach. Shalee, Puikwan and I walked down to the beach shores and started spamming pictures :P

We walked further down until we came across a shady area with three hammocks swinging from the trees beneath. Audrey, Daphne and Lisa took one hammock each and started lying down relaxing in such a peaceful atmosphere with the gentle breeze of sea~ They even ordered drinks from the mini shophouse behind. Shalee, Puikwan and I joined them as well - with ordering of drinks and all :P

They sure know how to relax on the hammocks!

With that, we walked all the way back to our rooms to wash up before heading out to Golden Dish Cafe (again!) for our lunch :P Actually last night, we went to informed the boss that we will be having our lunch in his restaurant and we even picked our dishes already! So once we were there, most of our dishes were already prepared and displayed out on the table :) No waiting time at all! (^_^)b

Our scrumptious lunch was amounted to RM120! Which only, Puikwan, Shalee and me had to chip in RM10 :P Audrey, Daphne and Lisa paid the rest. The reason was that we three shorties, are very picky eaters and since we ate little, they volunteered to cover the most of the price.

We quickly walked back to our resort rooms to do a final checking of belongings - packing, checking every nook and cranky of the room, in case we have left anything behind. B'cos once we are out of here, there's no turning back! After which, we went out to the beach again for some last shots of Tioman beach, with the very few minutes that was left to spare :P

Finally I decided to roll up my pants and step into the cool seawater.

we went back to our respective rooms and carried our already packed baggage out!

Walked over to the main foyer to check out with the uncle - returning the keys. There's also a cart-looking-contraption that we can placed all our heavy baggage on and someone will help us to push/pull it all the way to the jetty :) Nice.

With that,
we made our way to the jetty... to find out that the boat has not arrived! So with the spare time, we bought ice cream, ate under a small pavilion and experienced the simple enjoyment that comes with it :P

Finally after twenty minutes of waiting, the boat... (or should I say ferry?) has arrived! We walked down the bridge of the jetty to retrieve our baggage from the cart-looking-contraption before boarding the ferry at once!

It was a very long boat ride... A whole one hour and a half to get back to the terminal in Malaysia. Sleep~ And @3.25pm, we alighted from the ferry and made our way out of the terminal to find a proper bus (no more of those mini van/bus vehicles) outside waiting to drive us back to Singapore!~

Time to go for toilet break :P

After the half an hour break, we boarded the bus and continued our journey back to our homeland, Singapore. There's a few more pit-stops along the way - for toilet breaks and local products shopping. And at around 6pm, it started to rain for a bit.

With another two hours of bus riding, we reached the Singapore Checkpoint :D And by 8.15pm, we arrived at Newton Circus Hawker Centre. Just in time for dinner :)

After eating, we did our last bit (Day3) of photo transfers on the spot :P It will be hard to transfer and share so many photos through MSN or even worse, email! D: Next, it's time to retreat back to our own sweet home :) Took bus124 with Puikwan, which later I then transferred to bus195. The rest took either train or cab back home.

Day 2 (18/7):

Yet another morning here at Tioman :) Woke up at 7.30am to get ready for breakfast. We thought of having our breakfast earlier, due to the fact that we would be doing snorkeling later so our food would be digested by then :P

We walked over to the main foyer of the resort... however we were pretty early, thus breakfast wasn't ready yet (@.@) So we decided to take pictures with the resort surroundings :D!

Day 2 is just about to begin!! :D

Breakfast was ready and placed on the tables at 8am on the dot. It didn't have a wide selection of food like in hotels. It was just toasted breads, sausages, sunny side-ups and baked beans... and when combined together, it made up a simple, delicious breakfast :) Nothing fanciful.

After breakfast, we went back to prepare for our Day 2 activities :D Swimsuits, sarongs a.k.a wrap-wraps, sunblock lotions and everything else that was necessary :) Locked my baggage with my valuable red passport in it.

Puikwan went over to room 2B first to get the wound on her leg bandage up nice and proper with waterproof plasters and stuff. Hope that salt water won't enter and sting her wound. But that is unlikely not to happen :( Because water is very powerful... especially moving water. Oh well...

Since we have some minuscule time left, we decided to take pictures outside the resort huts. Puikwan lent Daphne her sarong to test wear. Shalee and me were already wearing our own. Shalee purposely bought hers during Day1 so that she could wear it now :P

Now it's time to proceed back to the main foyer to listen to a briefing and collect our snorkeling equipment. Why, all the snorkeling equipment were already placed nicely out on the table for us to take :P So we each grabbed a life jacket and a snorkeling mask; and started putting them on :) Come to think of it... the snorkel mask piece was really gross! Think of how many hundreds of people that had put that piece in their mouth to bite/suck/lick D: MEGA GROSS!!!! :\

After around forty minutes of boating, we have finally reached our very first snorkeling destination!! Renggis Island :D

Land AHOY! \(^0^)/

Welcome to Renggis Island~

We put on our snorkelling masks and with our waterproof cameras in hand; we plunged into the cooling blue waters :) Puikwan was a little hesitant about going into the sea, due to the wound on her knee... but she still went ahead with it :D Yay! Swimming with the fishes; or should I say chasing them was so much fun. The corals were okay... not as pretty due to the coral bleaching :( The fun lasted until I got a little dizzy from the waves pushing me about! D:

Lots of different type of fishes, although there seem to be more of those striped fishes...
a whole lot better than the small yellow with black striped fishes at Krabi :P

There's one point where the life guard, ZiMing, picked up a weird looking sea cucumber from the seabed and showed it to us. I grabbed the funny pink sea cucumber from his hands and asked Audrey to take a picture of me holding it :P But right after the photo was taken, I immediately flung the sea cucumber at Audrey. The expression on her face and the way she tried to dodge was priceless xD We had much laughs!!

This is definitely much lulz xD!

Puikwan and I had a great time bullying Audrey :X While Audrey was snorkeling with her breathing tube above the waters, Puikwan poured in seawater down the tube; causing Audrey to breathe in seawater instead of air :X As for me, I just covered the breathing hole and Audrey had to rush up from beneath the sea to breathe. Oops~ :X

It was really hard to recognize each other with our similar looking life jackets and snorkeling masks that covers almost all of our facial features. So most of the time we ended up calling each other with the wrong names! xD Well, I stuck to Puikwan most of the time because we were sharing one of the waterproof camera :P

At 11.30am, it was time to get out of the salty waters and return to our boat. We have actually spent an hour snorkeling by Renggis Island! (O.O) I guess time really flies when you're having fun... :(

With that, we were on our way to our next destination, Tioman Marine Park Centre.

ONWARDS TO BEYOND THE BEYOND!! Lol'd :X

So tired... xD

Puikwan redid her bandages again; this time using a plaster and Leukoplast to secure it.
For me... I accidentally kicked a coral while snorkeling earlier,
thus scrapping one of my little toes :( It was a weird type of pain (@.@)

After twenty-five minutes of sea journey, we have reached our next destination, the Marine Park. Time for more snorkeling, I guess (O.o)

All of us alighted the boat with nothing in hand except for the waterproof cameras and of course, the snorkeling masks . It's time to finish the shots up! xD Moreover, we had to walk barefooted all the way~~~ The ground was covered with rough grits of sand and pebbles... It was really hard to walk on such ground, especially barefooted! We clenched our teeth and made our way to the very first stop... the toilets!

But first! A picture taken at entrance :P

And then,
We headed to the Marine Park Centre which is like a museum/exhibition hall. It was really cold in there with the air-conditioning switched on to full blast. And we were still wet from the previous snorkeling + in swimsuit! Audrey, Daphne, Puikwan and I managed to explore the whole centre - enduring the cold; leaving Lisa and Shalee to wait outside for us xD Anyway, the place was pretty lame; so to say.

Looks like the waterproof cameras were unable to take pictures indoor :X

Finally, we decided to go down to the park waters - pretty much like a mooring-buoys-barricaded section of the sea... The waters was not as blue/clear/pretty as Renggis Island. Probably due to tourist pollutions... (O.Q) We were supposed to meet up with the life guard, ZiMing, at the floating platform near to the jetty. Since the waters didn't look very pleasant to the eyes, we were debating whether to swim to it or made our way to the jetty and then swim out to the platform from there (which is of a nearer distance).

The result, as voted by the majority, was to swim to the floating platform. I guess no one really wants to suffer another round of the nitty gritty pathway. And so, we started swimming... making our way through the waves that were washing us back to shore. It was tough and making it worse for us was the buoyancy of our life jackets (however without it, we would drown...)! But through hardwork and determination, it was not impossible :)

And we REACHED the FLOATING Platform! :D

There's nothing much to do but to snorkel again, look at fishes and feed the fishes with bread provided. However, the longer I stay in the waters or on the platform, the giddier I have gotten - caused by the push and pull of the tides :(

With just a short ten minutes ride of the boat, we have arrived at Tekek. Here, we will be having lunch and also to do some light shopping (O.o)!

Not a lot of food stores were opened... and there were only those malay economy rice. We were too hungry to care and just eat whatever they have to serve! Lisa was the only one who changed out of her wet clothes and into a sundress (after confirming that, there will be no more sea/snorkeling activity); while the rest of us stayed in our wet attire throughout.

Thank goodness that there's ice milo :)

pressed the kitten's head to restraint it from moving and snatched its food away... :\

After our satisfying lunch, we strolled over to the duty free shop located in Tekek to do some spending of money xD However, the stuffs over there were mostly tourist stuffs like Tioman shirts, gifts, souvenirs and local products of food - chocolates, tidbits, etc.

As we walked on, we heard lots of loud noise and realized
that this huge tree was the source of the racket! They were produced by
hundreds over bats hanging upside down on this particular tree! D:

In less than thirty minutes, we were done purchasing our selected items and we had to walk back to jetty to meet up with the rest of the activity group.

But we got distracted by this lovely scenery and
we definitely must take pictures with it :P

Okay... for the next part of the activity - waterfall visit, the entire activity group would have to split up; as not everyone wanted to go for that activity. So those who have paid the extra fees for this part of the activity (which includes us), will be taking the speed boat instead. And for the rest of them, they would return to Kampong Genting by the same boat.

In the end, only the six of us and two couples were proceeding on with the waterfall visit activity. We transferred all our stuffs to the speed boat, said our goodbyes to the people on the other boat and off we go! Speeding forth to Asah Waterfalls~~

The speed boat was pretty alright. Didn't feel much of the waves as the speed boat cut through them! A little bumpy when the boat encounters bigger waves - boat will fly, we got lifted off our seats and landed back repeatedly. After awhile, a light drizzle passed by. I'm already getting wet from the seawaters and now I'm gonna get more wet by rain?! (@.@)

@3.30pm, we have arrived at our final activity destination; the Asah Waterfalls. The drizzle hasn't stopped at all! No time to waste, we have to move on!~ Can't wait for the drizzle to evolve to a full fledged rain, right??

However, the three of us kept making the others wait :X
Because we were busy trying to take pictures with the beautiful nature scenery!!

It was a very long walk... trust me...

This is my first time seeing a natural waterfall!! :D Singapore only has man-made ones like the one in Jurong Bird Park. It felt very... serene... like all my tiredness and weariness from walking all the way up, were washed away by the very sight of the waterfalls :)

The tour guide who came along with us for this part of the activity, suddenly dived down into the plung pool below and he urged all of us to join him as well. We immediately discussed whether to go down or not... For me, I was very keen to gooooo!! It's like since we've already walked so far to get here, it would be a waste if we complete the activity!!! And this could be the only time I get to gain such an experience. Sooooo, it turns out that Audrey, Puikwan and me were the only ones going down to the waterfalls :P

"As you can see..." said Daphne.

I was a little scared about going down into the plung pool... The waters were so dark... I don't know how deep is it; what are the creatures lurking beneath the dark waters; any of those nasty slimy rocks?!?! AND the waters were extremely FREEZING COLD!

And without further delays, I gathered all my courage and plunged into the freezing waters. I kept swimming and swimming until I reached the base of the waterfall. I wouldn't want to touch the ground of the plung pool at all! :\ It's like mighty gross!! And... I accidentally kicked against a rock as well :( Ow.

At the base of the waterfall, we struggled to get up on the slippery rocks and climbed to the middle of it :) There was a couple who got to the waterfall first; the guy gave way to us so that we could get up there as well... leaving his girlfriend behind :X

Together we squeezed at the midsection of the waterfall (that's includes the abandon girlfriend :X) and posed for the camera~ :P

What an experience! :P

All of a sudden, the waterfall's falling water seems to be increasing in... water(?) xD It just seems heavier. Then we realized that it was raining heavily!!! It was not the waterfall waters but the rainwater! We quickly got off the waterfall and swam our way back to the rock that we started from. It was really hard to get up on the rock; I was like hugging the horrible algae covered rock and Audrey was pushing me up from behind..

The three of us then went back to the top to grab our bags and slippers. Daphne, Lisa and Shalee were really drenched from the rain. With that, all of us (including the guide and two couples) took off for the nearest pavilion for shelter; with towels covering the top of our heads.

We sat under the pavilion, trying to wait for the rain to stop. It was a really long time... so we actually ended up introducing ourselves to each other. The couple who climbed the waterfall were actually one year older than us :P For the other couple, they kept their age as a secret but... the girlfriend was a Japanese!! :D

Later, there's a tour team of Singaporeans strolling under the rain; walking away from the waterfall direction. We didn't see them earlier at the waterfall, because they actually trekked higher up than us!

The rain didn't seem to be stopping so we decided to stop waiting for the rain to stop :X And ran to the next pavilion shelter - hugging our bags closely to ourselves and with towels on our heads. Actually come to think of it... the towels made a useless shelter :\

The guys went to look for big leaves to be used as shelter from the rain. But they were unable to tear it from the trees... mother nature was too tough! So since we were already so drenched, a little more rainwater wouldn't make a difference! So we ran all the way back to the jetty, it's like a race against the droplets :P

The towel covering my head was getting heavier and heavier with rainwater and each step I took was getting heavier as well D: As we reached to the bridge of the jetty, one of the guys told us that we better run faster... since we were out in the open with no trees around, we were like perfect targets for any lightning strikes :\ So we ran across the bridge like the wind!! xD

Once we were back at the jetty, we immediately got
on task to squeeze the rainwater out of our towels!!

All drenched! Smile :D!

The skies really looks very ominous :(

The boat uncle has a difficult time trying to station the boat near to the jetty. The wind was really strong and the waves were really choppy. The boat uncle threw over a rope that was tied to the boat, to the guide. With combined strength and determination of the guide and boat uncle, they managed to station the speed boat near to the jetty for us to board. And we boarded immediately (in case the boat drifted away again!).

Once we were on the boat, we immediately put on our life jackets, interlocked our arms together, grabbed any railing for support so that we won't fall off the boat when the boat is speeding back to Kampong Genting.

The ride back was even worst... the waves were really choppy and it drove my endurance for seasickness to its limits. They passed me a plastic bag where I puked generously into it :\ Luckily for me, we were reaching our destination. When we have reached, my legs were really weak and Audrey had to support me out of the boat and onto a bench at the Kampong Genting jetty. I was shivering from all the cold and from the vomiting.

From there, we slowly made our way back to our resort. One of the guys who went back to put his stuffs first, came back to help us carried our stuffs back to our rooms. Thank you :) Anyway, once we were back to our rooms, we immediately took turns to bathe and changed out of our wet clothes. When everyone was dry and clean, we went out for dinner.

Malaysia - Tioman (Day 1)

::Malaysia - Tioman Trip; 17th July to 19th July::

Day 1 (17/7):

Zealous! This is yet, another one of those overseas trip with my female secondary school friends :)! Although the start of planning for this trip was one month before, however due to overwhelming results of people going to Tioman, most of the resorts we wanted were fully booked. We were so scared that we weren't able to book any resorts at all! Well, if you get the drift of our situation... No place to stay = no go :(

Anyway, we managed to book our accommodation at Tropical Coral Inn Resort; just one week before we set off to Tioman! Talk about last minute! As for me, I was rather anxious as I need to confirm my unpaid leave for the new job at Subordinate Courts. Lol'd, just started working there no longer than two weeks and already taking leave! Amazing? xP As usual, I enjoyed packing my baggage one day before the trip :P

Speed up to the departure day~
I pretty much woke up at 4am with all the calls and alarms going off... so sleepy~ We have to reach Newton Circus Hawker Centre at 6am. So the only available transport then was taxi... Since the four of us - Lisa, Shalee, Puikwan and me, live quite near to each other, we decided to share a cab down to the Newton Circus Hawker Centre. Shalee would be the first to board the cab, followed by Lisa, Puikwan and lastly me.

All packed and ready to go~

We were so afraid that we're not able to get a cab! It was too early and it was raining too heavily - like elephants and whales! But... we were of most fortunate to get a cab and we reached the destination at 5.10am - very early indeed!

@Newton Circus Hawker Centre!

We stoned around a particular table and waited for the remaining girls - Audrey and Daphne to reach. We were getting a little anxious at 5.30am when we heard nothing from them. So we gave them a call to find out they were at Toa Payoh, looking for a cab! And by 6am, they were still at Toa Payoh, looking for a cab! It was still raining heavily and this hour is when all the taxi drivers got off their night shifts! Such bad timing... no wonder they were unable to get one.

With that, our anxiety levels erupted full blow! It was told to us that the bus would leave at 6.15am. But at the look of it... for them to reach Newton Circus is absolutely impossible! The only thing we could do now while waiting for Daphne and Audrey, is to look for the bus! But... we have no idea where is the location of the bus and what's the bus plate number. Tried calling the travel agency but there was no answer. Overheard that there's a flood now at Newton... With rain pouring like this, of course there would be a flood! :(

Finally! We managed to get our call through the agency and have received the bus plate number! Next task is to search for the bus in the car park under this terrible rainy weather (O.Q) So gloomy. But there was not a choice! Onwards to the car park we went, with our umbrellas wide open.

Luckily, it wasn't that hard to find :) Those mini buses/vans were parked near the hawker centre! And for this particular Tioman trip, there were two of those mini buses/vans that will be bringing us to our next destination through the checkpoint.

Yep, it's the right one! :D

It's really nice to be dry and out of the rain; and to be seated on nice comfy seats... but this doesn't last for long! We broke the news to the driver that our friends were late and won't be getting here sooner. The drivers of the two mini buses/vans discussed among themselves in malay and decided that one of the buses/vans should move off first, instead of both waiting for the latecomers.

And so, the four of us have to alight from the bus/van and move over to the smaller one; while all the people in the smaller one have to swap over to the other one. With this was done, the bus/van filled with people set off first into the dawn, leaving the four of us - all alone; waiting for all the latecomers.

As for Audrey and Daphne's side of the story, they gave up waiting for the never-coming cab at Toa Payoh. Audrey called her papa to drive them all the way to Newton Hawker instead. Alas, they got blocked off by the flood while approaching Newton; so they alighted and took the train from Novena station to Newton. And sadly, they had no choice but to walk through the flood and make their way to the hawker centre. They mentioned that the flood was up to their thighs! Pretty unbelievable! (O.O) At last, they managed to reach at approximately 7am - although they had a hard time trying to find the mini bus/van.

However, we were unable to go off yet... we have to wait for another late person but she reached shortly after Audrey and Daphne. This late Korean female person stank of cigarette smoke; and I was sitting directly behind her! Oh the humanity :( At long last, we were able to move on!!! After one hour of delay! Can't you believe it? With Audrey guiding the driver away from the flooded areas, we managed to get through safely without any jams (^-^)b

Anyhow, the driver had to fetch a couple somewhere at Woodlands as they were unable and unwillingly to get to Newton, due to the terrible flood. More pictures while waiting for the couple to board! & it's daylight!!! :D

Even at the bus waiting area, it was crowded with people!!! We stood there waiting ever-so-patiently for our mini bus/van; and soon the Korean female and the couple joined as us well. BORED people!

Two hours and fifteen minutes has passed~
Finally we have reached Mersing jetty @11.15am; after all those chatting, eating and sleeping!

After alighting from the bus, we quickly made our way to collect our ferry boarding passes/tickets and also, with last minute promotion of the Marine Park tickets - we bought them as well at RM5 each.

We pretty much have to board the ferry immediately after that. Due to the fact, we were actually departed an hour late... So yea, with no waiting time at all, we queued up to enter the gate - which we handed over our boarding passes; and onto the ferry we boarded.

Once we got on board, we immediately set off to look for six seats that are together. It's of free seating, you see. We managed to find six seats together; although they are not in a row but in cluster... it's okay! As long as we are together :P The bad thing was... we were seated directly under the blow of the aircon. It was freezing cold!!!~ But I have to force myself to sleep, due to my strong tendency to motion sickness. I can tell you it was a pretty uncomfortable, restless task (O.Q)

This was a very torturing two hours ferry ride for me. The aircon was too cold; I have to keep forcing myself to sleep and just to be woken up by the coldness again D: That's a limit one body can take all these nonsense! :\ I felt more tired after this journey than I should be.

At last, we reached LAND!! :D Kampong Genting, to be precise @1.25pm. After using up half a day's worth of time for travelling, we finally reached our main destination... Tioman Island!!!♥

The moment I got out of the ferry, the first thing that hit me was the strong gust of wind! It was really windy and the next thing I noticed was the sea water! (O.o) It was very clear and really blue! It was unlike the waters at Krabi; this is more awesome!! :D I can't wait for the snorkeling that we will be doing the next day; but I can't say the same for the boats that we will be riding as well (O.Q)

First thing we've got to do was to find our resort: Tropical Coral Inn Resort! Lucky for us; there's a map of all the resorts located on Kampong Genting :D We located our resort on the map and off we went, in search for it :)

The village part kinda reminds me of Pulau Ubin somehow;
but with more buildings :P

Yay! We have reached the resort! (^o^)b

Orange juice were prepared for us at the main foyer of the resort... the only thing is... I don't like orange juice... Anyway, we were surprised to find that all the people who came along in the two mini vans/buses, were also there! Apparently they are going to be staying at the same resort too. Out of all the resorts in Kampong Genting, we all ended up at this particular resort, Tropical Coral Inn. Such coincidence! (O.O)

Most of the people gathered around the uncle (probably the owner of the resort/tour guide) were discussing about the next day's activities - snorkeling. There's one additional activity brought up during the discussion, which is the waterfall visit. Well, we let the majority of our group decide for us. & yeah, we are including the waterfall visit into our itinerary tomorrow :) With extra activity, comes with extra charges; and so that was settled as well.

With that, we were dismissed and finally, got to go to our rooms!! :D

And we found out that 3A and 3B were of the same hut :)
Moreover, our huts be it 2B, 3A or 3B were FACING THE SEA/BEACH!!

One, two, three... Puikwan and I opened our door for 3B. I was pretty much stunned by it. Not very luxurious :X When I explored the room, I was furthermore shocked to find out there's no kettle provided to boil hot water (so much for instant cup noodles :X), no fridge, no safe to lock our valuables... Ahhh~ It's like nothing!!! xD

Since it was a last minute booking... there's no choice but make the best out of this trip! Anyway, we will be only be in the room at night for sleep. Most of the time would be spend outside of the resort :D

With that, it's time to leave to the room and look for food!! Lunch!! :D Most of us were famished as we haven't had a proper meal at all for the entire morning (O.Q)

And then we went looking for a place to have our lunch. Most of the eating places seems to be closed in the morning. We managed to find one that seems to be closed at first sight but it's not :P The Golden Dish Cafe - Seafood Restaurant.

Before entering the restaurant, we had to take off our footwear. Really special! It felt like the boss of the shop wants us to make ourselves at home :) The boss, who is an old man, seems like the only person in the restaurant... he's the one who took our orders, did the cooking and served us the food. Amazing! And of course, this took a much longer time for us to have our lunch... D: Like the saying goes, you can't always have everything in life xD

After our delicious lunch, we continued our walk down and were at the jetty area again :) Looked through all the local craft souvenirs shops; thinking of what to buy back for friends stuck in Singapore (@.@) Well, not yet time to purchase them :P There's still Day 2 and Day 3!~

With that, we decided to head down and explore the right (which is the right~) side of Kampong Genting!~ Looks like nothing but a long stretch of beach! xD

We then spent our Day 1 at the beach of Kampong Genting; since we had nothing better to do as there were no computers + internets here on the island (at least for me, it does matters :P). We took off our slippers and walked barefooted on the sand and shallow areas of seawater :) It was so relaxing and cooling. It's like we were relieved off all over burdens for that period of time. Carefree~♪

We continued our stroll along the beach until we spotted this wooden-jetty-looking-bridge! We went ahead, walked on it and then sat down with our legs dangling at the side of the bridge :) Lisa backed out the moment she reached to the top of the bridge. So she volunteered to help us in the photo-taking instead :)

Daphne and Shalee got off the bridge afterwards, leaving Audrey, Puikwan and me still on it. We decided to bring out for courage and continued walking towards the middle of the not-very-safe bridge. Some of the wooden planks were broken and parts of the bridge were rather shaky... And you know what, we didn't want to proceed further, afraid that something unfortunate might happen!

After dinner, we walked all the way back to our resort rooms to rest up. Audrey and Daphne will have to come over to our side though; because majority of us are there! :P So while waiting for them to come knocking at our door, we - Lisa, Shalee, Puikwan and me, decided to play rounds of Uno - the card game.

Soon, we got tired of boring old Uno game play :( So we moved on to playing rounds of Heart Attack. Then we realized this particular game will stimulate people to start screaming and shouting... the walls of the rooms were how to say... holey? xD! Sounds could actually travel quite clearly to the outsides! So we modified the game a bit to a game of Silent Heart Attack. When the game starts, no one is supposed to make any sound/noise/laughter. If one actually lets out a single peep or a giggle, the rest will keep hitting/beating the person until she stops making sound. Shalee seems rather bad at this game, thus we rewarded her with the most beatings!! :P

Go. go. go!

Finally Audrey and Daphne came knocking at our door. We all remained silent and pretended that we were not in. So they knocked and knocked... Well. we did let them in after awhile :P Not so bad, kay?! Audrey came over with her first aid bag to help Puikwan change the dressing for her shaver-razor-blade wound on her knee area. I guessed she is rather worried about her wound touching the seawater for the next day's snorkeling activity D: It's like rubbing salt into the wound... LITERALLY! :X

As you can see we were totally bored, until we even mimicked Shalee's hairstyle by pinning our fringe to the back; creating what she call a "snail" on head effect. & I looked terrible... the downside of having a high forehead like Haruno Sakura xD

It was only 10.15pm then! Still very early, I would say :P So we all went out for a walk and we walked all the way back to the jetty's shops where some of us have a sudden urge to eat ice cream :P The victims were Daphne, Puikwan and me! xD We bought Nestle ice cream cone @ RM2.50.

Finally it was time to call it a day and retreated back indoors; where we continued to have much fun and laughs :P Rest, bathe, card games, dance, food!!~ Lastly of course, to transfer/share the day's pictures and we also crowded around Puikwan's netbook; previewing the pictures and having the time of our lives :)

After that, we in room 3A and 3B bade Audrey and Daphne "goodnights" and "see you tomorrows". We packed up our stuffs up neatly and also got ready our stuffs that we were be bringing along for the whole day tomorrow; as we won't be coming back until all the activities were completed - which could be very late :P

I... will be boating off to Malaysia's Tioman Island on the 17th to 19th July 2010!
Yet another overseas trip with Puikwan, Shalee, Lisa, Audrey and Daphne.
My secondary school friends; my 16 Degree^C! :P
Everything was planned by Audrey and Daphne; with the help of Puikwan, Shalee and Lisa.
I didn't do a thing because my suggestion was denied by them... as it wasn't good.
And I didn't have time to meet up with them for the discussion and planning of the trip.
Was a follower and just have to pay up~ The trip cost $214 + $20 insurance.

I'm blogging this post first and it will be published on 6am of 17th July. Because I don't think I will have the time to blog this... I HAVEN'T PACK MY BAG YET! And I have to sleep early on 16th... as I have to reach Newton Hawker Centre at 6am to take the bus to the jetty on 17th. Or maybe... I shouldn't sleep at all @.@!!

The bus will be leaving at 17th July; 6.15am!

Yes, Sky is gone... Sounds like another repetition? Yep, yipyip flew away once before...

Damien and his friends, Gerald and Gavin, let out all the lovebirds today to play. Well, none of their wings were clipped; because we don't let them out often. They didn't close the windows as they were so certain the birds won't fly out... Well, guess again. Sky flew out. I heard they were trying to catch it, Sky got scared and accidentally flew out of the window :( They saw Sky flew down to the 21st floor. Tried to knock on the door but no one's there. In the evening when my mama came back, she went to knock again. The owner said there's no yellow lovebird at all.

Tomorrow in the morning, my mama and Damien will be looking for Sky again with the other birds... Hope we can get lucky on the second time and find Sky back. But the chances seems very low because Sky now has full grown inner wings; while that time yipyip only had one full grown inner wing.

HOPE SKY WOULD COME BACK TO US!!! :(

The next day after my work, I met my mama and Damien underneath my block to look for Sky. I supposed it was already too late to look for Sky; but we just give our luck a try. Carrying a small cage with Ocean and yipyip in it and Koko on the shoulder, we wandered around trying to see if Ocean will call out to Sky. We went up to the highest level of the multi-storey carpark and placed the cage on the floor. We waited for Ocean to call out and strained our ears to hear if there's any reply at all.

There were replies, bird replies. But we weren't sure if it's Sky or where is it coming from. We thought we heard a lovebird reply (lovebird's chirps) coming from the HDB flats on the right. Making our way towards there, we continued to strain our ears for any more lovebird's chirps. Soon, we found out that it was impossible to find Sky anymore. It was getting darker and there were lots of other bird chirping as well. We started to doubt ourselves whether did we actually heard the lovebird's chirps. Yes, we gave up. Sky is gone forever and she's not even two years old Q.Q Let's hope that Sky has gone to a better place...

RP Clique: Coffee Hangout!

Finally it's one of those RP clique meet up & hang out days :) It has been quite long since we last hang out together - well, for the majority of us. Now that, WeiLeng is back from her studies at Australia. It's like yay, great time for a meet up session time :D & also, for someone has an extreme "need" to drink coffee and wants to do it together in a group... xP

So the planning was done and set into motion:-
Date: 11th July 2010

Meeting Time: 11.30am ~ 12.00noon

And so,
I was pretty much the last one to reach there because I kinda took my time as I have a direct bus from home to Vivo City/Harbourfront. Koko came along with me to accompany at the bus stop, while I wait for the bus. Damien came down too; so that he could bring Koko home later :P

The six of us settled down at Tom N Toms Coffee; Vivo City. Everyone ordered something; as for me, I didn't order anything :P WeiLeng brought some snacks to share, so I ate those instead and steal food from the others :D As a result, I was rather bloated :P Yay~

Time passed as we bonded during this period with talks and food. Until it's time to take out Shuhua's belated actual present!!! (yes, the previous celebration of her birthday with those presents are not the actual birthday present! While waiting for it to ship over to my house, they bluff her by saying WeiLeng took her actual birthday present and could only pass to her when she returns to Singapore xD) WeiLeng and Moo did very sneaky stuffs under the table (don't think the left way :X), like taking the actual present out of the box and giving her just the box only xD

& she said, " Thanks ar for the batteries." Lol'd

But she did get her actual present in the end - a missy watch ;D
Once again, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY AGAIN, SHUHUA DEAREST!

With that, we took a group picture before leaving the comfort zone :)

And WeiLeng has to be on her way home. It was really awesome for all of us to meet up from time to time so that bonds could be renewed and strengthen! :D Anyway, the rest of us passed our time by walked/strolled around Vivo City. Well, for awhile before everyone gets bored of Vivo. Anyway, I made a pit stop at the UOB ATM to withdraw money to pay up my debts to Audrey... :X

And this was the amount I owed her!

Soon, everyone started to disperse off to their various places. As for me, I met up with WenJie at Vivo City as well. We went up to Toys"R"Us to look-look before making our way to Plaza Singapura to catch a movie - Repo Man @ 4.40pm.

Due to the fact I watched Toy Story 3 the previous day, I bought this on impulse :P

!!Cosfest IX: "Let's Make Friends"!! 2010 - Day 2

Yay! In a blink of an eye, it's Day 2! Team Pokémon Ginjinka, GO!~~
To cosplay as Caterpie is one of my many few cosplays I wanted to do! And yes, finally I've got the chance to do so :) I have been preparing for this cosplay for a very long time (looks at backlog O.o) Designing of the costume and creating of props - plushie, pokéball and usagi ribbon hairband! Total cost should be around $142.70 :X At last, the day is here to be like a Caterpie :P

Everything is ready and in place :D

Following on, there will be lots of pictures (@.@) Hope you won't lag out on me :P

And so,
I reached TingYu's house around 11.30am. ShunAn and Jasmine have already arrived at her house earlier. TingYu was trimming Jasmine's pink wig for her; so I helped ShunAn to paint his nails green. I've already done mine at home :P

After the wig was styled and trimmed, Jasmine came over to help ShunAn and me with our make up :D TingYu went to put her own make up though. And omg, Jasmine's make up skill is so awesome!! I really really like it :D

Later Katherine came over with her friends (also TingYu's) and they helped her with her make up. HuiFen, one of the friends, helped TingYu and me put on our eyelashes :D Unfortunately, we really took a long time to get transformed (O.Q) Meanwhile, I received lots of calls and texts from my cosmates and friends who were there already! We were all done by 3pm; with ShunAn being the first one to complete in his transformation, followed by me, TingYu, Katherine and Jasmine :) It's such a pity Angie and Wendy were unable to make it... especially when they have already bought their wigs and costumes :\

And so, let's continue on~

After packing up, we are already to go! (ShunAn and I took our bags along with us so that we don't have to go back to TingYu's house later on) The five of cosplay ones would head down to Downtown East immediately, without delay; while TingYu/Katherine's friends would be going to some other places first.

There were five of us so getting a single cab have to be completely impossible! So we split up into two groups - ShunAn/Jasmine one cab and TingYu/Katherine/me one cab. It seems rather hard to flag a cab at that rather lonely road :( When the first cab came by, my group took it first. Amazingly, ShunAn and Jasmine arrived at Downtown East faster than us! D:

3.30pm was the time we reached the grounds of Cosfest! Time to entertain those calls and texts :D To my fellow friends, I have arrived and hope you are able to encounter me!! (^_^)*

I met Joshua immediately after I have alighted from the cab. He had to go off already :( Really sorry that I took so long to get here! By the way, most of my friends were already there, long before I reached. So after I bid goodbye to Joshua, I went off to find my GV friends and also cosmates. It's like a search and hunt game! D: Found one; take picture together - repeats. Kinda like Pokémon :P

While heading towards the lawn area, we came upon the rest of the Pokémon team! It was really tiring; somewhat fun I suppose D:

With that, we decided to go as a team into the tent. So we walked in like a train of Pokémons and one by one we entered the tent. Gosh! The tent was crowded as usual :\ And yep, we stood around in the middle and lots of people wanted to take photos of us; and so we have to pose for the cameras... AGAIN! (@.@)

After that, Tingyu, Katherine, Jasmine, ShunAn and I disbanded from the Team Pokémon Ginjinka group and formed our own party. We went outside of the tent, onto the lawn area and found a less crowded area at the right side of the lawn. There we began to take omake photos with each other, pose when requested to and just having fun!~ Massive spammage on the way~

At around 4pm, Edmund and Rebecca left the place. WenJie took over Edmund's task and carried ShunAn's bag (+ my bag as well). 辛苦你了! (O.Q) Augusta left later to meet his other friends as well.

At 6pm, Jasmine went off with TingYu and Katherine; she had to return to TingYu's house with them to collect her bag which she left there earlier. As for TingYu and Katherine, they are going back to change out and meet up with her other friends for movie. Leaving ShunAn, WenJie, me and the other photographers like JiaQing behind :(

JiaQing told us to stay until 7pm for the grand finale event in the tent, where they would invite all the cosplayers on the stage and later they might dance to CaramellDansen; if it's the same as last year. Well, since we have to wait for Jasmine to come back to Downtown East, ShunAn and I decided to go for it. So we went up on stage when they announced. But later... it wasn't a dance... it was a PARADE around Downtown East!

As all the cosplayers dispersed, JiaQing, Naoki, ShunAn, WenJie and I walked to the lawn area and took some pictures; using the lamp as a free spotlight :P Finally Jasmine has arrived and met up with us :) After bidding JiaQing and Naoki farewell, ShunAn and I went to the corner toilets to change out of our costumes. It was then I realized I have left my cap at TingYu's house :( Now I have to out of the toilet with messy hair! D:

Waiting for the bus to take back to the interchange was a killer! The bus took a very long time to come :@ After that, WenJie and I went to McDonald's to have our dinner (I didn't eat lunch at all!!!) Jasmine and ShunAn went to buy bubble tea and they left after Jasmine has finished her McDonald's meal. So accompanied by WenJie, we took the train and later a bus transfer home for me.

And so, it was been a very rewarding Day 2! One of the best cosplay events I have ever experienced! d(^_^)b So much fun! So many photos! My first time staying till the end of Cosfest! Finally... I have done my Caterpie cosplay. Hope there will be a Team Pokémon Ginjinka shot coming up next! Well, time to get prepared for the next cosplay event/activity :P Plan and discuss! Plan and discuss! !!Cosfest IX: "Let's Make Friends"!! 2010 - Day 1

This was probably one of the very few cosplay events that I was keen to go for both days. However, I kinda had a dilemma on what to cosplay as, for my Day 1. The Pokémon Ginjinka cosplay would be on Day 2; although you are very much welcome if you want to cosplay on Day 1 itself, but the main team would be on Day 2.

So after much discussion with TingYu and ShunAn, we decided to do random characters instead so that we won't have to re-wear our costume twice without washing! (@.@) For me, I have chosen one of my many few costumes to dress up, and also my favourite my blond wig :P

Anyway,
It's been decided that for both days we (ShunAn and I) would head down to TingYu's house to camp - dress up, make up, wig up. 'cos her house is the nearest to where Cosfest will be held at D'Marquee; Downtown East - as usual~

Pretty unlucky for me 'cos the moment I left my house... IT STARTED TO RAIN!! :( But fortunately, it didn't last for long~ Nevertheless, I reached her house at around 11.30am to 12noon. Last one to arrive! :X

& we are already to head towards Downtown East. Being dressed up like this, we decided to take a cab down instead - you know, to avoid the stares~~ Jasmine went off to Bugis and Katherine, she joined us along for Day 1; not cosplaying though :P

Found a cab parked at the HDB parking lot; so we approached the taxi driver and asked whether if he is able to drive us there. Little that we know, he was actually waiting for his wife to come down and he is going to drive her to somewhere. So he called his wife and asked whether is it okay to drive us to Downtown East since it's nearby. His wife agreed and we were off!~ Total there's 6 persons in the cab - the nice, kind malay taxi uncle and his wife plus the 4 of us. & he didn't charge us a single cent for the trip!!! :D Yay, thanks!

We reached the D'Marquee at around 2.45pm! Quite late... :P It's okay! To me, Day 1 is just a warm up cosplay to prepare for Day 2's main cosplay :D So we're just here to join in the fun for Day 1!

And so, it's time for me to search for all my friends and cosmates!! :D Thus, for here onwards would be more pictures than words. Nothing more to type/say, just walking around, hoping to bump into any of my fellow cosmates and friends. Lots of calls received - friends arriving or already there and wishing to meet up and TAKE PICTURES! Yes, cosplay is all about taking pictures with friends/cosmates :D Let's begin!

Baking @ Phoot Huat

::2nd July 10::

I have signed up for a hands-on baking session at Phoon Huat with XueNi and her friend/colleague, Yvonne (will be my colleague very soon as well!! So, make friends first :P) So after my final day of work at GV (glad that my station was box office... it was my favourite station of all but still, I will never get to work at GV anymore Q.Q), I went to Chinatown to meet up with them and took a bus and a train down to Phoon Huat.

We reached just in time before 7pm to pay up the fees and register for the class. We were few minutes late when entering the class. Unfortunately, the class started on time so we were like disrupting the introduction of the lesson :X Anyhow, the recipes on the food we were baking, were handed out to us. The chef, Patrick Pang, went through the recipes with us and we took down extra notes and corrections.

The food items that we were to bake are

Hazelnut Chocolate Praline Cake and Onion Cheese Rye Bread.

& so, we began! We followed step by step, reading the recipes while preparing the ingredients for each step. The amount of ingredients prepared have to be multiplied by three; well, 'cos there's three of us. We were doing the preparation steps together and later we would divide the product.

We started off with the baking of the sponge cake (the base) for the hazelnut choco praline cake (HCPC; acronym please?).

Mixing all the ingredients needed to make the sponge cake;
with the machine whisk at high speed.
(eggs, water, sugar, cake stabilizer, flour, ground hazelnut, cocoa powder, coffee emulco, butter)

Once the mixture is done, it's to be poured out into the baking tin and bake in the oven at 160°C for 30mins .

As the mixture was made to be three times more than the recipe,
XueNi and Yvonne carefully divide the mixture into three portions, into three baking tins.

Yay!~ Done!~♪

Thirty minutes of baking time.

With that thirty minutes of waiting time, we proceeded on to the preparation of the other recipe for onion cheese rye bread (OCRB, more acronyms!) For this, we have to make the dough for the bread!

The whisk attachment was replaced by a dough hook for this task of mixing.
Watch as the mixture slowly transform into
a dough-looking substance during each whip of the dough hook!
(bread flour, dried yeast, water, wholemeal flour, fried onion, caster sugar, salt, shortening)

With that, we scattered some flour on the table before taking the dough out of the bowl and placing it on the table. This is the prevent the dough from sticking on the table. We divided the dough into six portions; two for each of us, each weighing 300g-310g per portion.

And... our HCPC sponge cakes were done and out of the oven! :3

Removed the baking tin and let it sit to cool~

Next step of the HCPC was to make the two fillings, the hazelnut chocolate filling and whipped cream :P

1. Mixing to create hazelnut chocolate praline filling.
(unsalted butter, chocolate cream, hazelnut ganache)
2. Mixing to create whipped cream to soft peak~
(whipping cream, caster sugar)

Completed! (^_^)*

Time to go back to the OCRB steps. The doughs seem to be sitting long enough to raise until they appeared to be bloated! They are ready to be stuffed with grated cheese and shaped into a loaf appearance.

My loaves were baked in the oven at 200°C for 25mins.

And then, we jumped over to continue on the HCPC steps.
By then, the sponge cake was cooled down and we can apply the finishing steps on it :P

I've spread the chocolate filling on the first layer and cream filling on the second.
The coating of the cake with cream was really difficult to manage.
It's hard to coat the cake evenly, especially on the sides! (O.Q)

Finished up with the roasted hazelnut coating and a sift of powdered icing :)
(used too much strength on the first sift... that's why the pattern looks so horrid Q.Q)

Anyway, the OCRB in the oven were done! :)

With that, we have completed our baking lesson at Phoon Huat!~ Took around three and a half hours to do two items :) We packed our products with care, washed up all the utensils used and went off home.

I had a terrible migraine from eating too much whipped cream during the lesson and apparently the smell from the OCRB was making it worst! :( But! I would like to participate in another baking session at Phoon Huat, 'cos the experience was really fun :P Baking stuffs with friends, able to take the products home~ All part of the joy!♥ & next time I will remember not to eat too much whipped cream! xP

P/S: It was hard to take pictures as well!! Especially with flour-covered hands...

Cosplay updates
::17th June 10::
As Caterpie has yellow feet, I too need to get some yellow footwear! And to me, the dyeing of shoes is the easiest and cheaper(?) way for doing so. So I've gotten my yellow dye and mary jane flats. & now, I've finally got around doing the dyeing task.

Only two materials needed! :X

Apparently I allowed it to soak for few days too long; as I'm afraid the colour might fall off after washing. But I was wrong! The colour still remains as orangey-yellow. Nevertheless, it's still consider yellow right? :P I don't care~♪

With the new movie release, Marmaduke, there were box office premiums available with purchases of Marmaduke tickets (obviously). One of them is a small plushie of Marmaduke and another is the headband with Marmaduke ears (@.@)

The funny thing was... Jamaica went to ask Azan (the manager) whether do we need to wear it while serving at the box office. Azan said yes... jokingly... Jamaica took it seriously and went out to tell me (yep, was doing box with her). So we opened the plastic wrapping and took the headband out. Azan came out from the office and saw us with the headbands out. He exclaimed, why did we open it?! And since like that, we have to wear it while serving the patrons. I was like EH!?!?!? Jamaica... she brought it upon the box staffs that we have to wear the ears. Everyone, be it the office, candybar or floor, kept laughing everytime they saw us with the Marmaduke ears. It was pretty hilarious. We probably looked like clowns xD

Black Belt Grading

I was invited to view an Aikido black belt grading at Poh Leng Building; which I have no idea where is that located at. Heh, it's Joshua's grading; a test for him to advance from brown-gold belt to black! I always wonder how does a martial arts grading looks like and now finally I get a chance to see :X

Uh, the highlights of the grading are:
1) Disarming Techniques (~~Staff~~/Dagger/Sword)
~~2) Multiple Attackers (Armed/Unarmed)~~
3) Seated Techniques

Anyway,
Armed with the information from gothere.sg and a camera screenshot of the map, I made my way there. I followed the directions/instructions given by gothere.sg very closely. 21 Moonstone Lane; Poh Leng Building. But I was still lost! I have totally no idea when to alight, there's no distinctive buildings for me to note my location. The reason was... there was a massive construction there! Along the roads and stuff... probably constructing another MRT station/tracks. So the bus stops were shifted and I alighted 1-2 stops late :(

So I was pretty much lost... Tried calling Yusri (because he is the only one I knew who will be there) but there's no answer. Didn't even bother to call Joshua because his grading has started already at 1.30pm. Yes, I am lost and late! D: Viewing the very small map on my camera and my okayish sense of direction, I walked till I saw Poh Leng Building in the distance and also finally found this Moonstone Lane.

The tricky thing was to find a path to get around the front buildings so that I can reach my destination, Poh Leng Building. I was unable to make up my mind which way I should go because I didn't want to waste my time retracing my steps back. Anyhow, I managed to get there after all the trouble and panics.

Yay, destination reached!

I advanced up to the third floor where the Aikido Shinju-kai Headquarters is located. Now... I don't know where the spectator room is (@.@) This was pretty much becoming a nightmare for me. It was already 2.30pm; an hour late! I saw some sections were crowded with people standing in front of the doors; another place with shoes placed outside. It was very confusing. I tried calling Yusri again but no one answer. So I decided to approach someone to ask them where is the spectator room. And yea, it's the place where the shoes were placed outside; and when I looked in, I saw there was a television inside to view the grading from the screen.

After I took off my shoes and walked in, I found Yusri sitting at the corner... SLEEPING! No wonder he didn't pick up my calls!!! D: I woke him up immediately and asked him where is Joshua :P He told me that Joshua is #180 and he can't be seen from the television screening; as he was positioned somewhere in front. Hence if I want to see Joshua, I have to go to where the people were crowded at. And so, I proceeded.

It was really crowded. I tried my very best in spotting Joshua by tiptoeing and peering pass the gaps between the people. & I found him :P He was quite in front like Yusri has mentioned and far off the side. I put in lots of effort in trying to take decent pictures after locating him. I had to stretch my arms above the people's heads (do take note that I'm not very tall...), steady my hands before pressing down on the shutter. It was very tough! Did I mention that there's a lot of people blocking and I'm not very tall?

Anyway, there was one point in time I climbed up and stand on a chair (which was left on the side of the door) so that I could have a better view and also better attempts of phototaking.

Well... after awhile, it was getting pretty boring. Maybe, it's because I have no idea what they were doing. Probably some locks and throws and some more locks... Meh, still I was clueless! And also, I was growing a wee bit tired in taking pictures of Joshua :X So I went back to the spectator room and sat beside Yusri, watching him draw one of his girls in Aikido uniform, gi! :)

Was surprised to see a RP plaque on the wall! xD

At 4pm, it was the end of the grading. Everyone in the grading room, packed their weapons and stuffs, left the room ratherly briskly. If I was in there, I would be the first ones to leave the room... it must be really stinky with all those sweat odors! (@.@) AND! Those everyone who left the grading room came pouring into the spectators room D: Soon, the room was overcrowding with people... sweaty people :X Joshua found us and we snapped a few shots together before leaving the Aikido Shinju-kai Headquarters; Poh Leng Building.

As for me, I packed a $2 nasi lemak for my lunch/dinner and made my way to Great World City... So sad that I have to go to work instead while Yusri and Joshua get to go home (O.Q) & I had double lunch/dinner because WenJie bought for me beehoon as well! He was afraid that I might missed the food order because I start work at 6pm xD Woah, bloated... wek :X

Cosfest Updates: The Trial...

::26th June 10::

The final lap before Cosfest! Time to really get on with the wigs. Wig cutting/trimming to be held at TingYu's house; followed by a full trial with costumes, subtracting the makeup. Yep, so that's roughly the schedule for the day :P

Yaaa, actually I'm supposed to reach there early afternoon... but as usual, I was unable to wake up and so I was kinda overdue :X I only managed to leave the house with contact lens at 2pm and arrived at her house at around 3.30pm. Pretty late; due to the fact she live all the way at Pasir Ris! Inner Pasir Ris, I would say; because I need to take a bus from the interchange as well.

By the time I reached TingYu's house, Wendy and ShunAn were already there... early! TingYu was already done with her wig trimming and they were getting on with ShunAn's. So yep, good thing I arrived late... if not, I would be sitting around with nothing to do! :X There was still some time before they were done with ShunAn's wig; so I played/disturbed her bunnies (bidds)! Or should I say rabbits... as they were really big! xD TingYu came out to join me with her bidds as well, since Wendy is doing all the wig cutting :P

And yay, it's my turn now! :P However, it was also time for Wendy to head home. So TingYu did the cutting and trimming for my wig :) My wig undergo a huge transformation after the modification process. Lots of synthetic hair was hacked off by a pair of scissors.

We went ahead first to take pictures of our cosplay trial, while waiting for TingYu and Katherine. (This pretty much explained why I had more shots with ShunAn :P) Anyway, it looked like Katherine didn't need to cut her wig at all. The long wig looked good on her. With that, TingYu came to join us in our photo-taking frenzy :P

::25th June 10::

Had opening shift at the box office and it was raining rather heavily! I had to protect ShunAn's birthday DIY board present with all might. Wouldn't want the rain to destroy our hard work :( So I searched around my house frantically for two very large plastic bags. With the board covered up, I went out holding that in one hand and an umbrella in another. However, when I made it down a small flight of steps at the void deck, I slipped and fell :\ I quickly picked myself up and checked on the board immediately before checking myself for injuries. Luckily, it was very minor.

After work, I made my way down to Plaza Singapura where I would be meeting XueNi and Puikwan at the 喜怒哀乐 spot of Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Well, I waited for some time for them to arrive because they ended work at 6pm, while me; 5pm :P

&&&& they have reached! We immediately got to work in finishing up the DIY board. Our final task: pasting our birthday messages to it! And it was done in a jiffy :) Got a look at the "cookie-cake" thing XueNi has bought to represent the cake :P No candles though.

Uh... Reason for this Epsilon meet up is to celebrate ShunAn's very belated 18th birthday! (Sorry! O.Q) For finally, the Epsilon had the time to get together again. Since everyone is being so busy, busy, busy :( Thus it's very hard to plan outings anymore...

Well, anyway... Edmund was supposed to reach Astons (the location we are going to have our dinner at) early to queue up at the ridiculous long line. In the end, ShunAn was the earliest there so he queued up for us instead. We had a tough time trying to hide the DIY board from ShunAn's eye. But it's too wide and long. It's impossible!!! Eventually, we just used XueNi's jacket to cover it so that it wouldn't be too obvious/eye-catching and we acted as though we were just carrying it as our own item. At last, Edmund reached; still he was awfully late! :@

After some more waiting time, we were allowed in! Apparently, our table was a four seater; so an extra chair was added, placed by the aisle. We made the belated birthday boy sit there. Such special seat; just like where the king sat at the long table in medieval times :P Since we took our orders before Edmund reached, we played a mini game with him, involving him to guess what each one of us ordered? xD Well, he lost.

And we continued to wait for our food.... tolerantly...

& lo and behold, our scrumptious food has arrived~

After we were done consuming our delicious food, we, of course, left the place. Outside, there were people still queuing their absurd long line. At this part of the mission, we were totally unprepared. We haven't thought on the ways in presenting/surprising ShunAn with the gifts and the usual stuffs. I thought of proceeding to the top floor of the building where there's lesser people and places to sit, as I recalled.

So leading the way, acting as though we were just wandering about randomly until we reached the Cathay Cineplex level. Edmund managed to understand Puikwan's silent hinting; and went off luring ShunAn away, distracting him. We, the SSG, immediately got to work - removing the huge plastic bags off the board and getting the "cookie-cake" out. Next, we sent another signal to Edmund via text message, to return to us. Hiding behind the giant pillar, we jumped out as they approached nearer and started singing happy birthday to the belated birthday boy, ShunAn.

With that, we ahead over to Plaza Singapura and went up to the seventh storey - my favourite floor of the building. Toy Outpost, Otaku House, Simply Toys~ ♥♥♥ Anyway, Edmund and Puikwan kept mimicking a retard pose of Ponyo-resting-on-her-stomach keychain to irritate XueNi at Toy Outpost xD

We were pondering over the thought of catching a midnight show, but the thought of walking home sank into our hearts. So we decided to give it a miss; maybe next time then :P We walked down to Sweet Talk before heading home; as XueNi wanted to buy bubble tea from there. In the end, for some way or another, all of us ended up buying bubble tea as well!

Puikwan ordered the exact same drink and topping - passion fruit red tea with coco jelly, as XueNi. I thought that she was copying XueNi's but it turned out that it was a coincidence. Puikwan didn't know XueNi ordered that; so this showed that they have a same taste in bubble tea flavours xD

As for me, I ordered watermelon red tea with mini pearls :P Weird combination but I like!♥
The other tasted it and found it too weird for their liking :X

& lastly, this came to the end of our marvelous Epsilon outing. Everyone, at least I hoped, had an absolutely wonderful day together. Even though, it was only a short while. But the time spent together is all that matters :)

GV Grand: Food/Arcade Outing!

Before I met up with my GV friends, I have to go to Peninsula Plaza to sign my contact with Service Connection. Yep, I will be starting my new job at the Subordinate Court; Small Claims Tribunal on the 5th July. This job was introduced by XueNi :) Thanks! So... that means I have to quit GV very soon...

Anyhow, I made my way to Bugis to meet the rest - erm, Rebecca and Edmund first. We sat at KFC, chatted and ate a bit of lunch there while waiting for the remaining people to arrive - Augusta and WenJie.

I bought my favourite alien handphone sock... again!

Once they have reached, we departed from the basement and into the outside world. Rebecca and I decided to eat desserts first (we were supposed to meet up for dinner together!) so we bought an Uzumaki ice cream each :P

With that, we all went over to iluma and to make decision of what to eat there. We strolled round and round the restaurant level/4th level... and finally, we have all come to a conclusion...

I have to say... I didn't really like the shrimp bisque. It tasted weird.
And... I still find Fish & Co. better :P

Next up, it's time for arcade!!! :D Two levels of arcade here at iluma - Arcadia on the fifth floor and Tornado on the seventh. We hung around at Arcadia for a while, before proceeding up to the seventh. Tornado have more of those ticket dispensing games for everyone, so we spent more time as well as money there :P Well, Augusta and WenJie were the one spending money for us to play :X Thanks! :D

All of the money were spent on this game as it can dispensed the most tickets!
If you managed to get all the trivia questions right, you can get a bonus of 50 tickets :D

So we played and pooled our tickets together!
I've never earn so many tickets before...
except for that time in Genting but that doesn't count!

So we have earned ourselves 735 tickets in total!
& everything was credited into my Tornado card :X

As a result, each of us chose something off the shelves and exchanged it with the tickets. I didn't choose anything though because I did not see anything I like :( So I kept my share of tickets. It was already 9.30pm when we were done with the arcades. We loitered about iluma, thinking of what to do next... Movie or home. Movie or home. While deciding, they bought takoyaki from a shop outside of iluma.

I didn't buy any because they only have the authentic octopus one.

Now then, since we really couldn't decide and Rebecca wanted to head home, we ended our outing abruptly and we all headed back home :P
